I need a little help with a plug-in.

This is my first plug-in, and it's amlost ready for release. There are a few bugs that i can't figure out, though.

In a few systems, there's a ship that always appears, it doesn't move, and it's sprite seems to be a combination of all the planet graphics. If it helps at all, it took me about five minutes to kill it hammering it with the Forklife just out of turrent range, bceause it had about a billion Nuteron Turrents.

There's also another that appears in differend systems that the ship name is just a bunch of giberish, it doesn't appear on the radar, but the target icons say that it's right next to you, and it moves wherever you go.

Also, in certian systems, a dude who i set to appear 40% of the time will appear about 10% of the time. I checked all the numbers several times and i can't figure out why.

A also made sure there were no dude resources pointing to ships that didn't exist. I'm using Res-Edit.

And one more thing, does anyone know where i could find EVO developers map?

And after this plug's finished(very soon) i'm going to be making a plug and I'll need help with graphics. Anyone?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

This had me climbing the walls for weeks when it happened in my plug.

Your dude resource's ID number is too high. In the EVO bible, it lists some limits on what ID's are OK for each resource. You can only have 128 Dudes, which means one of your dude resource ID numbers is higher than 256.

In my case, an Emaghia shell sat arround in the system, and shot me with phase cannons. 😉

As for the Developers map, it's on Pontus's site. See the link below.

For the dude probablility, make sure that the percentages for all the dudes in the system add up to 100. For example, if the first one is 25, the second 50, then 15, then 30, (not adding up to 100), then the game will puke.

I just checked, and the Dude resources stopped at 256(i had to max out both ships and dudes).

But I also found another potential source - in a few systems under unused planet slots i'd put 0 instead of -1. But i haven't had a chance to test it.

It sounds as if you've maxed out on your plug-in. Is it a total conversion plug? Anyway, You might want to consider not making just one plug-in for the package, but maybe even making two or three that are all part of the same package. I'm not sure that that would do it, but if all else fails (and this is a conversion plug) replace the sound, graphic, or whatever files you made and put them in the EV Sounds, EV Graphics, and so forth subapplications EV comes with. I hope I didn't lose you in that. Good luck.

That shouldn't make any difference, but you can try...

Have you tried checking out the spin resource? Most funky bugs can be traced back there. Make sure that they point to the right sprite thing.

The last dude you can use is 255, not 256.
