I have an idea for am Escape Velocity: Ovveride plugin, however I don't think I will ever have the time nor the resources to do it myself. Well, here goes:
NEW AMERICA
Nobody knew who they were or where they came from. But they could kill. A group who simply called themselves The Conspiracy suddenly came out of nowhere and started taking control. With state-of-the-art weapons, a seemingly endless supply of soldiers (The Conspiracy's soldiers are really "humanized" robots- they were made to seem human a la "Bicentennial Man") and ruthless yet ingenious tactices, nation after nation fell to the Conspiracy and their Ordo Saceulorem ("World Order" in Latin- I know it's misspelled). Finally, only the United States of America stood between the Ordo Saceuloren and world domination. Konwing that the US coudl neither defeat the Conspiracy nor surrender to it, the President came up with a brilliant plan. Using nuclear weapons on OS (Ordo Saceulorem) forces to stall for time, he evaucated the entire United States and sent them into hyperspace. Each state, territory and commonwealth settled 1 system each, coming in at a total of some 50-odd systems. This new United States was still run by the old US government, with its captial on the beautiful planet of New Washington, in the New America system (in the far top-left corner of the galaxy, a far as possible from Earth) The Union was re-established among these systems.
The year of the evacuation was 2076. It is 150 years later.
The United States of America and the Ordo Galaticum (Whatever "Galactic Order" is in Latin- it's the new name for the Ordo Saceulorem) are still at war. Neither side has gained any of the other's territory. The two great nations (The US is the second-largest country in the galaxy, the OG is #1) are divided by a thine line of systems known as The Zone- a perpetual battlefield between the US and the OG. In each system of the Zone there is at least one US space station and a OG space station. The planets in the Zone are war-torn. "Running the Zone" is dangerous, life-threatening- and profitable. Of course, the US and OG governments are looking for private ship pilots to help their war efforts.
That's where you come in.
Having just graduated from the US Naval Academy at Nimitz Station orbiting the planet of New America (in the system of the same name) but declined to be just another fighter pilot or starship captian, you have managed the save enough money to buy a small but sturdy shuttle. But shuttles aren't they top thing on your mind: You've got two girlfriends in your life: a good Catholic girl from New America (who also turns out to be one the CIA's best undercover secret agents) and a "wild child" exotic dancer who live in a private fortress in "The Zone" (and who has secret ties with the Conspiracy itself). Both have proposed to marry you; both know about the other one. Whom you marry will determine which government you will serve...
So what will it be? Marry the Catholic CIA agent and lead the forces of truth, freedom, and justice to victory, retaking Earth in a climactic battle and finally crushing the Conspiracy? Or marry the "wild child" and join the Ordo Galactium, supporting a regime best described as "1984 from the waist up, Brave New World from the waste down?" Or remain a bachelor, trading among the independant worlds that exist outside of the US and the OG's spheres of influence? You decide....
Like I said, I have neither the resources nor the time to make this plug-in myself. I have no "under construction" missions, nor ships, nor anyhting like that. Just an idea? Does anybody want to do this, or comment on it?

Patriot: You've set the stage for a fairly involved story, and it's clear that you've put a lot of thought into it. I don't think that you'll find anyone with the time, skill, and inclination to make a plug out of it; anyone with those qualities is already working on projects of his or her own. And it's just fine if you don't have the time or inclination to create a plug yourself...
...but since you've gone this far, why not finish writing the story? That is: make a story out of the beginnings you've got here. This is precisely why there's an Chronicles page.
Oh, yeah: if you want the "God Bless stuff" in your story, then you keep it in the story.
