Need network EVO Arena testers

Maybe there could be a 1 player mode implemented, with bots with decent AI,you could win money each time and could upgrade your ship or buy a new one. This same system could be implemented in network mode except with the bank account idea I mentioned earlier. Each player would start off with a helian and 10k and each player would be a "bank account" so to speak. There would be NO way to hack it to give more money or a different ship...

The only problem would be that you'd prolly need a dedicated server, a lĺ Avara.... Maybe Gameranger would be the best idea, email Mark or whoevers in charge Tycho and make some enquires. If this is to take off we're gonna need something of the sort of a server it wouldn't work out if the game was IP only.

Try and sort out the problem with the Krait and make the laser work and un-rapid fire the blaze cannon for the next version Tycho..... (Anything I put in my bug report 😉

Depends. It would have to tunnel through an HTTP proxy. Because I have access to my school network, which uses a T1.

My alphas are still going to be public, but first I need to see if they work. I'm not going to upload a network if I just think it will work and then find out it doesn't. SO when I finish my assignment(27th) I will sit down and talk to some people, perhaps using dave's program and sort something out. I'll post a new topic when that happens so everyone will know.

Wham, I'll get those kraits working eventually. What do you mean by un-rapid laser fire? Everyone was complaining before that they were to slow before.

One last thing, whoever wants to do this will have to have alot of patience. What will most likely happen is that everyone will get it and try it, but it won't work. I'll have to quickly find out what's wrong and fix it and then send it out straight away. And then it will start over again.

Just a couple more things:

Dedicated servers is what we're really striving for but I don't think game ranger handles that. I think all game ranger does is keep track of other games which are being hosted on other servers/computers.

Testing will have to be done in groups as at the moment I have only implemented 2 players. Wham!man sent me some different coloured helians to use so I will try to get them put in so we can have four players. The only dilemma with four players is:

Should each player be a different colour or should your game show you as always blue and everyone else different colours?

Tough one. I'll let you guys sort it out.

I think he means what i said in an earlier post. the blaze cannons work more like beams instead of laser. ==> slower firing

Hey I live in Germany and I wanna test it to.
Ihave several platforms to test it, including an AGP G4 / 450.
Ihave lots of expirience with RB programming, non+graphical C/C++ programming, and some other graphical skills.
Actually I wrote a programm to simulate self witten ship-plugins in RB. But it was abandoned some time ago.

Ok. I'll try make the laser fire slower and probably shorter and also in a 2 degree random arc.

So it's decided.

I'm back. Kerry is in the middle of a heatwave so it pretty much rocked (if anyone cares).

Try and design the chat program to be like the artists cough impression I sent you. If you aren't gonna do public builds could you mail a9 to me. I'm going to make a better splashscreen (a10/b1) and maybe do a turncoat spîn, if you want I could implement free/custom shipyard graphix, might I recommend Kraig Hill's renegade set.
