After many horrors I have finally gotten EVO developer's map to compile under FB^3. (wild cheers etc.)
Unfortunately, I suspect I have created a few bugs in the process, and rather than hunt them down myself I have decided to unleash my program on the unsuspecting ev community.
Ok, so maybe it's not that bad, but I could still use some help hunting the critters down. You can get the new version (or the old one) at: (url="http://"http://members.chello.se/wmb12729/ev/evomap.html")http://members.chell.../ev/evomap.html(/url)
PS: Actually, it seems I've already found a bug myself. On our G3 you can't see the evo data files in the open dialog. If this happens to you then you'll have to place aliases of all evo's data files in the folder named "Data Files Ä" manually.

If I'm not mistaken, it deletes planet descs that already exist if you try to edit them.

What folder is that, and where would one find it? I can't get the app to recognize the EVO data files or aliases anywhere.

Don't bother with this version. I'll release a working one in a few days.
When it comes out, please e-mail me to tell me at sabbas@globalnet.co.uk

There. This version should work, I hope. (url="http://"http://members.chello.se/wmb12729/ev/evomap.html")http://members.chell.../ev/evomap.html(/url)
Problem with new version, You have programmed EVO dev map to put in the index # of the syst in the spob's system field, it needs to be the ID #.

Desc editing is still non-functional with existing descriptions. Also, the same annoying bug that has existed in every version I've seen is systems retaining hyperlinks to a previously deleted system. Say, for example, I have system 128 and 129 connected. Then, I delete system 129 and put it in a completely different place, system 128, for some odd reason, will make a hyperlink to the new system 129, which I have to go and delete.
Also, perhaps you could make a second and third load file for plug-in Graphics and Titles files? With large plug-ins, the data and graphics have to be seperated. This would help the "preview" feature, which I think is very cool.

Thanks for reporting it. It will be fixed.

I'm having some trouble tracking this bug down since desc editing works on my computer. Is it ok if I use you as a guinea pig to hunt it down?

Are you sure? I can't reproduce this bug either, but I'll look for it.
Try putting the extra files in the "Extra Data" folder.

Sure. I happened to notice it while working on F-25 1.5, trying to edit existing spobs, the descriptions I wrote in Res never appear. Also, it's not surprising that the systems are being twisted and confused, since throughout the course of production of F-25, systems and ids have been deleted very frequently, multiple times.

I'll try it. Thanks..
Maybe the reason why it does that, is you havn't told system 128 that the hyperlink no longer exists. It still thinks it has a hyperlink to system 129.
