Stuck, stuck, stuck, help please

Okay, I'm a newbie, dammit, and I seem (unsurprisignly perhaps) to be totally stuck. I have four outstanding missions and can't seem to make progress on any of them. Hints for any of the following, spoiler-laden or otherwise, would be gratefully received.

1. Where are the Plains of Endless Wind and how the heck do I get near 'em?
2. How do I find and catch that blasted fairy?
3. How do I find the supposed Master Thief who's hiding in a forest that, once again, I can't seem to get anywhere near?
4. Where the heck is High Garendall? I followed a road as far as I could to the north and it ended in a rock-face...

Actually, scratch no. 1, if all these waving trees are anything to go by, I think I may have found the Plains of Endless Wind after all...

2.You need awareness-check number 3
3. you need to cross the Taoros River near Gwyden Camp then go west and south til Plains of EW head south it the lake and go to the underground tunnel after that you are where I am.. all i now is there another cave near where Mesera lives deep in a crypt
4.It will come later but if you search more there is a tunnel to past into the mountains.

I've just met the Elven dude and he's sent me off to find something for him, I'll see how I get on with the Master Thief after that...

Actually Mesera is completely separate from other quests (ie, the elf quests). Mesera is in a cave south of Varandeep Lake, on the same screen as Fungus' Getaway. Listen for different music on that screen.

Um, maybe I'm missing something, but I've wandered all over the area to the south of the lake and can;t find either. Found a cave with two entrances, full of those yellow fish men that run away a lot, but no master thief, and no Fungus either. Any chance of a grid reference or two?

Are you sure the cave isn't the one across the lake? The lake can only be crossed via a cave with those yellow dudes and manticores (big red things with wings). If you've found the north gidolan cave entrance, from it, one screen to the right. If you're still stuck, just download AAC's maps.

Okay, let me get this straight, when you say 'North Gidolan cave entrance', do you mean the tunnel entrance? One screen to the right of that I can do. Ta.

Go west one screen of the NG enterence and you will find the enterance to the CRYPT
