What do I need to make plugins fo EVO ? I'd like to make my own ships but all i have is ResEdit. is there anything i can do with it?

Yes. You can make really low quality, pixely graphics with Clarisworks. Anything else and you'll probably need a real graphics program.
Resedit isn't for making graphics. It's the programing tool.

With ResEdit you can only do, well, just about everything! Download the bible and it will tell all. To make life a little easier, get EV-Edit, Schmelta-V,and EVO Developer's Map as well. They'll really save you some time.

I got the EV-Edit program but it doesn't recognize any of the file i try to open. Is there a certain image type it has to be?

ResEdit is absolutely essential for making plug-ins; but you cannot make ships (that is the graphic elements that are displayed in the game) with ResEdit. The acyual ship resources that determine a ship's size, speed, armament, etc. can be made with ResEdit. For creating ship graphics you need a 3D rendering program like Infini-D and an image editing program such as Photoshop - at leat that is what I am told by people that know about such things.
