EVO 1.0.2 AI and multiple types of turrets

How does the new AI handle 2 different types of the same class of primary; i.e., if I equip a ship with phase turrets and blaze turrets, will it use both, only one, or none?

From what I have seen, the AI uses whichever is best ie if one of your primary weapons is better at chewing through shields, while your shields are still up, it will use that. If you have another weapon that is better against armour, when your shields are down it will switch to that.


...yet, using both simultaniously is even better.

Unless you've got so many turrets that if you fire both it doesn't reach the max. firing rate for either (I've seen it happen). I don't think this would be a problem in EVO though...
