Is it a bug?

I've noticed a strange thing in EV/O: when you have fighters/escorts flying in formation with you, they sometimes move around in trajectories equal to your own, regardless of what that entails. I've seen ships go backwards, bulk freighters follow alongside my lightning,at the same speed. Until I accelerate, that is. It seems as if they're being pulled by an invisible, infinitely powerful tractor beam.

Also, a related concern: in EVO, a fighter will do not automatically break formation and attack the enemy immediately.

What do you people know about this?

What did you want them to do. fly around all over the screen?
They are SUPPOSED to fly next to you... that is why the are called ESCORTS. Usually escorts will dance with their date... not walk around all over the place...

Your fighters are supposed to fight what you TELL them to. If fighters attacked as they pleased, that REALLY tick me off..

What I mean, if you read into my post, is that they move along your current vector, regardless of their orientation, acceleration, max speed - that means a freighter is "tugged" alongside my Azdara, backwards, at twice its max speed. With fighters: I tell them to attack, same thing happens (but only with very slow fighters.

I know exactally what you mean. Yes, I think it's a bug; it's been this way since EV 1.0...
I still need your email, or you need to email me at meowx@angelfire.com if you ant to help with Project Nebula...
