karma raises

what exactly qualifies as a Karma raise on your board. I know the general Karma thing, but I'd like to know specifically what

AAC has told me that he only raises karma for something exceptional... which this board is not likely to have.

then how in the world to the big people on this board get those big ol' 7-15ish karmas? Is ArcAngel nice with them? exceptional posts?other boards?
