I am getting very close to releasing the Alpha version of my plug, Nemesis, but I keep running into a really stupid bug. It keeps telling me that I don't have enough cargo room to accept the mission, but it only needs 1 ton and I have way more than that available. I have checked it over dozens of times and I have had Jon Pearse look at it and we can find nothing wrong. I use only ResEdit for the missions so it isn't the fault of EV-Edit. I have tried creating new pilots and it still doesn't work! If anyone has experienced anything like this with other plugs or EVO missions please help, this has totally halted work on Nemesis.
In a totally unrelated topic, is it possible to set up a form on a page with some fields and checkboxes, etc.. and have it send the results to my email without using a CGI script? I have told it's possible but I can't find the code to make it send it, help is appreciated.
Jim is working on updating the uEVO Plug List so hopefully an update will be up in a week (or more, no way to tell). If you have an EVO plug and you want it on the list, released or not, please send the info to Jim. Also include the URL for the plug's site (if applicable) and the author's email (also optional). All additions/revisions go to Jim, his email address is on the site. So far we have 135 entries!

It can be done with simple HTML, (url="http://"http://surf.to/aap")http://surf.to/aap(/url) however, the app there called 'HTML Gorm' only does simple button/text field forms.

Hmm, I've never had that problem before - maybe you could send me the mission resource(s) involved? From what I can tell, it's a very strange bug, and I don't know if I'll be able to fix it, but it's worth a try.
Sorry I can't give any suggestions, but from what I can gather there's nothing wrong - I'd have to look at it to be sure.

Andrew M: Thanks for the info, I'll check it out tomorrow. Once I can see the code it produces then I can do it myself.
Mike: I'll send along the mission tomorrow, I'd be grateful if you could look it over and tell my if you see anything amiss.
You can also send a form via e-mail. Just make sure the form tag looks like this:
<form action="mailto:goldenphoenix@mailcity.com?subject=(Your subject)" enctype="text/plain">
It looks kinda un-professional when someone submits, but the results will be mailed fine. You're more than welcome to use a script that I've got set up. If you're interested, just tell me and I can give you the HTML needed.

Um what do I have to modify to make it a button?
Thanks Micah, I won't need a script but if I change my mind I'll let you know. I'm assuming that works with the submit button?
If you would like you could send me a copy of the plug and i would look at it, to see if i could find the prob and i'll offer suggestions on how to make it better before beta testers get it.
------------------ Umm...Yeah...ok.
Phoenix -
I would strongly recommend using a script - that HTML will get the mesage to you in some form or other, but it doesn't display a thankyou page so many people click the button loads of times and flood you with mails. Also Communicator sends just about intelligible but garbled messages (IE's are OK). Micah, you can vouch for this can't you I made that first submitting thing for your bios page and, let's face it, it sucked more than a vacuum cleaner on speed

Jol'Jvik; I may take you up on that offer. First I'm going to see if Mike can fix it though.
Maca; I tried it without the encypt code and it looked horrible but with it the code it looks fine to me. Later on I may go to a script but not right now, thanks for the info though.
The help is appreciated.
I have got a form setup for submitting additions/corrections on my site for the uEVO Plug List and another for submitting personalities for my plug Nemesis. So if you want to do either they're there to use.
Sorry Phoenix - I just closed my e-mail and forgot to reply, so I'll tell you here.
The only possible problem I could possibly see is you using a ship with no cargo space but with escort cargo space - in that case it wouldn't work because you can only use player cargo space for mission cargo.
Other than that there is no problem as far as I can tell. And this isn't even very likely. Sorry.
Nope, the ship I was using had 20 tons free and I had no escorts. Thanks anyways though, not too sure what I'm going to do now. You're the second person (plus myself) who knows quite a bit about ResEdit that has taken a look at it and can't find the problem. I'll have another go at it on the weekend.
