As a huge Tolkien fan I feel this has to be said.
Surely the Dwarven armour be stronger than the elven armour (Dwarves being the greatest blacksmiths of all time.) To compensate this I think the elven armour should boost your stats (Elves being the most magical race.)

That's a point, actually, the Dwarves are meant to be able to build the solid sturdy stuff. Maybe the Dwarven armour should be stronger, but lower your stats for speed (like some of them already do) or intellegence or something.
Does anyone feel strongly enough to write a plug-in?
Spiffo.
I know we've already got a plug-in thread but this one could be full of ideas for a tolkien plug-in.
It could have elven cloaks which boost your dexterity and rings of power which boost everything but you can only get these rings by killing a knight with the strength of a sea-giant (sauron).

What about the fact that the rings are evil and can't be worn for long? The only thought that I've had is connecting them to HP so that when you wear the ring you are immensly powerful, but your HP drains away the whole time it's on. It would have to be left sitting in the player's inventory, ready to be used in an emergency or to defeat a tough enemy...
and/or it could massivly decrease your luck so although your increadibly powerful your cursed.
Another idea I had is that at the beggining it gives you the story of how the fellowship set out on theior quest but then were attacked and split up. Pretty much the same as pog but you can chose which character you are:
Gimli: A powerfull fighter but slow. High vitality. Leoglas: High markmenship, average strength and high dexterity. Boramir: Averidge in everthing. Aragorn:Almost the same as Gimli but loses some strengh and vitality for speed. Hobbits: High dexterity (as in d&d;) and high luck. Not that strong, the chracter you chose if you've completed it and want a challenge. Frodo could start with the ring.
depending on what character you are different people help you and you get different quests.

I like it... But if the Hobbits are to be a challange, the dexterity shouldn't be too high. This seems to fit in with their character to me... They may be able to jump about a bit, but they're not going to be that good at avoiding swords and making their blows count...
Besides, if it's going to be based on the film rather than tbe books, Frodo will have to be stabbed through the heart every few minutes...
So you all know... you can't modify existing items, etc. in Coldstone, but you can add things.
Just keep that in mind.

Ah very true. you could though create your on game. nudge nudge wink wink (Any slightly connected to ambrosia.)
Also the hobbits could have a high dexterity because their small and harder to hit.
Hobbits should have high speed and marksmanship, fairly high dexterity, fairly low vitality and strength(they're small) I also think I'd give just trade vitality for dex with Aragorn and make him standard speed. I think it would be sorta cool if Gollum could join your party(very high dex, high luck, fairly high speed)

Gollum could take on a whole new set of missions set by sauron and then when you meet the fellowship you could chose wether to help them or not.
