Frozen Heart

plague keeps killing me

Has anyone here played the frozen heart plug-in for EVO?

At the beginning of it i landed on a derelict and "got the plague" or something..so i went to Yeni Istanbul and that supposedly "cured" me but the plague still keeps running after me and killing me no matter what i do...

Its at like the beginning of the story

what do i do?!?

IIRC, there's another planet you have to land at as well to fully cure the plague. However, I don't remember which one. Can someone fill that in?

I think it's also possible to abort the plague mission, at least in older versions, but that might not be possible now since 1. In the latest versions of FH and EVO that may have been fixed and 2. I think after landing in Yeni Istanbul the mission gets removed from your active missions list even though the plague will still kill you. In any case, it's kinda-sorta cheating so the first option is better.

If this happened right towards the beginning, as you say, then you should just start another pilot. And in the future, don't board any ships with jewels for names. Just shoot'em and boost your combat rating.

Once I boarded a pair of those, with the second being a luxury liner. With the mission already running, I was able to steal four lightnings and then abort the mission.

Heh.... I once captured a vortex in FF.

Aha... 😉
So you just disabled and boarded it?

Yeah. It has unlimited fighters, although you can only get another when one dies. It also is immortal, in the sense that is an enemy destroys the ship(if it can be so called), it cannot do the things that a normal ship can, like land and board ships and such. But what it can do is fly around and wreak havoc until you decide to reopen your pilot.

I once captured a black hole and used it as an escort.

Hold position over a planet, demand tribute...

Meh, the black hole is just plain cheap. Corrosive clouds are far more fun to use 😄

Oh, cřre, did you utilize a certain type of overly-brittle hazzard to boost your capture odds (you know what I mean!)

I once made black holes buyable, and got a full fleet of them for escorts.

Has anyone captured the plague?

I tried it, but I couldn't find them after I disabled them.
