Whatever
I am playing EVO on the original engine, bought the game after playing Nova for a long time, registered of course.
Anyway, have a Crescent warship, totally tricked out, more or less, 4 phase turrets, 2 needle launchers, 250 needles, 2 pursuit launchers, 50 rockets. First question, is there anywhere in the EVO universe where I can sell weapons like Sirrusa works in Nova? Then, can I sell captured escorts or must I just drag them around until they get killed somewhere?
I seem to be in a couple of threads, is that possible, the UE plus the Igzara(sp?) at the same time and can I complete them both without getting a new pilot?
And is there some better combo for dealing with Voinians other than the needles, pursuits and phases plus whatever escorts I have managed to collect along the way, keeping in mind that I fight renegades whenever and they mostly wind up as the escorts? I have killed some frigates, fighters and a cruiser but the cruiser wasn't easy if there is a faster way to do that.
BTW, a great but lengthy way to make a couple of credits is the Chak/Emalgia weapons run, million credits a trip in a Miramu Heavy Freighter plus some other stuff on the way back to Chak.
Like the game but can't get the original EV to run on the 10.6 OS emulator so I guess I'll have to skip that one for a while.
Yes, you can do the Igadzra and UE mission strings at once - unlike Nova, Override has many strings which can be done independently of the others. The only ones which are mutually exclusive are the Strand ones (you can only do one Strand with one pilot), the Zachit and North Tip Renegade ones, and the UE and Voinian ones.
You can't sell escorts, alas, but you can option-tab until one is highlighted, hail it, and release it. You don't get any money but it won't follow you around any more.
As for killing Voinians, it's really really really infuriating to kill them with Phase weapons, as I'm sure you've discovered - the Phase weapons do very little damage to armour, and Voinians have a lot of armour. Voinian neutron turrets are the best primary weapons one can get, in my opinion - there's a small string for the United Earth government, which starts I believe at Luna, which leads to the avaliability of neutron weapons.
Needle missiles are mainly useful only against Human renegades - against anything else they tend to be rather weak. Pursuit missiles are better, but you'd be better off loading up on Search and Destroy modules, or plain old rockets - the Voinians are slow, so the rockets are good against them.
Unfortunately there's no place like Sirrusa where you can sell anything - you'll have to go to wherever you bought it (Miranu space for the Pursuit missiles, Renegade or Independent space for the Needle missiles, and most of the Crescent sells Phase stuff) and sell it there.
As far as I know, it actually is possible to do the UE and Voinian missions at the same time. I haven't fully tried it out yet, but I believe that you can only do both until systems start changing allegiance/become planet-less. My last pilot got recruited as a Voinian after having fully completed the Emalgha/Hinwar line...even with many Voinian systems changing hands. So I think it is possible to do both UE and Voinian storylines...at least for a bit.
