Will plugs originally made for EVO work on the EVN version of EVO? I'm asking 'cause i'm on a PC and can't get EVO.

Is there a way to make them work without remaking them?

As far as I know, no. There is a utility lets you do the conversion--Port Authority--but it may never be released to the public. I think EVONE can do something similar to Port Authority, but it's Macintosh only. (N.b., I may be wrong on the EVONE part, considering I've never used it.)
I must warn you: neither Port Authority not SpacePort (Space Pirate's converter in EVONE) is user-usable stuff, the differences in the engines make it necessary for fine-tuning and other such things after the conversion, so it can only be done by a plug developper, it's not just some direct file conversion.

You can use a mac emulator. I once searched with google and got a page with complete instructions. EV Override doesn't need much. Even that page says you'll need at least a 100 MHz Pentium for it to work.

Why do they not. EVN uses all the same resources as EVO except for the yยยยจ resource which was replaced by the char resource in EVN.

...no, they don't. Among other things, EVN uses a completely different graphics format (RLE* instead of PICT)and a different ship animation resource (shan instead of spin). Also, existing resources (particularly missions, ships and outfits, but it applies to most) are formatted completely differently and hold information in different places. The two formats, while similar in concept and in execution, are nonetheless very, very different.

EV Override is still for sale, as are Macintosh computers...
