Has anyone ever bought a miranu heavy freighter and dumped all of its cargo space with mass expansions and then put some dospect armor and a bunch of shield enhancers on it . Then put tons of phase turrets and missles and rockets on it and then go and take on the dreadnought or the Destroy the Rock.

Yes, I have used Miranu heavy freighters as converted warships on numerous occasions. But I still prefer a ship designed for fighting to begin with.

Oh yes. Actually I think we've had two topics about it, excluding this, during the last couple of weeks.
Freighters are way too slow! I prefer the Lazira myself, even over the Crescent Warship. It has the speed I like and holds enough weapons to do the job.
Yes. However I kept to the 2 turret limit and loaded up with 8 miraneu (forgive the spelling) defense pod launchers and all the pods I could hold. Then I just bombed the Dreadnought. Effective but not all that fun after the first time.

Tsk tsk, you should know better... Miranu!
I like the Azdara with Dospect, myself. It's insanely fast, and between the recharge rate on the shields and the Dospect, it's pretty much invincible.

All this talk about freighters has brought back a fond memory, of before my !&!@#%$^ hard drive crashed.
I had a little guide thing to turning a freighter into a warship. Maybe I should remake it?

I prefer to upgrade the standard Miranu Freighter, though lighter and with less armor/shields, it's faster, more maneuverable and has three turret slots. I quite like upgrading freighters into warships, especially in Nova where ennemy ships tend to run if faced with though opposition, they won't flee to what they think is a mere Terrapin. Big mistake. The surprise effect isn't there in EV(O), but it's fun, and you can still retain a bulk cargo capacity.

I think that it would take at least 5 tries to kill the dreadnought, no.
10 for Destroy the Rock.
That was really hard in an arada!

The Miranu Freighter can be transformed into an awsome Frigate! In fact, I don't know why the miranu bothered with their horrible Miranu Gunship, they should have made a Miranu Frigate......
idea flash
in fact, that belongs in a plug, I'm off to photoshop the miranu Freighter and make a plugin!

Lets see, would you guys prefer a new mission string adding a second ship or just a mod of the origonal mission string?

Both options, of course!

Ok, but you'll have to wait longer.
Ahh. I see. While Laziras are good, nothing can beat a Crescent Warship with about 20 million creds poured into it. Trust me--with this setup, I managed to desroy the Dreadnought on my first try.

How's that coming? And are you going to make an Override Nova version?
