I was in a system near the thoso system and I jumped in to meet a bouny hunter crescent warship, 4 ue destroyers and a Kestrel :eek: that was labeled: Hunter. tell me about this. is it like a glitch in the game or something. I am freaking out! Was that thing trying to kill me!!!!!??? :eek:

It does not explain, however, the four UE destroyers and above all the Kestrel: a ship that does not appear in any form in EVO.

Do you have some plug-in? This sounds very strange indeed. Perhaps it modifies the dude resources so that this system near Thoso you were in sometimes has 4 UE Destroyers. And perhaps it adds Kestrel as a ship. Or perhaps you have a mission? Check by pressing I, the shortcut for mission information. If you have a plug, tell me the name, and I will download and examine it.

It has to be a plug, or caused by a plug. If you use multiple plugs at once, it can screw up the Data.

No I don't have a plug. I don't have the internet on the one that I play it on. I saw the picture of the kestrel in my targeting screen. It had the whole breakdown of the kestrel parts.
If it isn't a plug, then someone has been playing with your Data files. Sounds kinda cool to me, though.

How is someone playing with my data files. Is that a really bad thing or just a bad thing?
Basically, there are four possibilities here.
(1) There's a plugin in that you haven't noticed in your plug folder. You say you've checked this, so it isn't this.
(2) Your data files have been messed with. You don't think this has been happening either, and I can't think of a good reason it would have happened... but it's possible, I suppose.
(3) A massive quantum uncertainty coincidentally changed about 200,000 bits of the EVO data files, coincidentally into an exact replica of a kestrel. I somehow doubt this.
(4) You were mistaken, and what you saw was in fact something vaguely kestrel-shaped, such as a Crescent Warship or Arada.
There is no Kestrel in EVO. It was physically impossible for what you say happened to occur without modification of the data files.
First of all, :eek:. Second, I can think of a few reasons for this. Not that I am not a programmer in any way, so the following are probably impossible. Also, I am assuming that that was a Kestrel.
1. You downloaded that copy of EVO from a corrupted source of some sort. 2. Your copy is just screwed up. 3. You have EV, and EV's resources are somehow being accessed via EVO.
If I were you, I'd save a backup copy of my game, and then go back and see if it is a fully functioning Kestrel. By this I mean, does it have classic EV weapons (lasers)?

It sounds to me like somebody is playing a funny joke on you, it is also possible that a plugin corrupted your data files with some of it's resorces. Try checking thouroughly through the graphics file for Kestrel pictures. If you find anything please send the data file to me so I can have a look. I'm vastly curios about this. Also, have you used any plugins recently that bring back EV ships? It is vaguely possible that a plugin has corrupted the data files.
And of course, like terminator said, attack the kestrel next time you see it and check it's weapons.
