There's a new plug production team for EVO.
CdH: Productions
It contains: me
Basically any plug beginning with CdH is one of mine, so remember the name. Also it stands for 'Crush da Hashish', without it my plugs would be boring and inane. The herbs give me the creativity I need to be a really good story writer. I think the gems in my plug-ins are to be found in the desc recourses.
Now, for my planned releases:
Confed Rule (EV) - completed Exodus (Voinian) - in production Invasion (UE) - in production Corruption (FH) - unfinishable
I could release EVO Galaxy Replacer, but it's only a quarter finished. UE space is pretty interesting though. I'll think about it.

Eh, not to be rude or anything dude, but wouldn't it be better to release a plug-in first, then worry about a "production company?"
Call me old-fashioned..

Ooh, he likes a good dig, Bomb.
I already have one finished, but since I have no internet connection on my computer, it takes a lot of effort to get my releases out. So I want to make a couple before I go through the hassle of trying to get this **** out. Also I am reminding everyone that I think smoking skunk is great, and should be happening all over the world.
And this type of thinking influences most of my plug-ins, as you'll find out when I release them. Since I've half completed all plugs except Confed Rule (which is finished) I intend to at least release them, whether they're finished or not. There are a few gems in there, I have been working overtime.
And so far on the Exodus plug-in: 48 missions, and we've only just reached Hizdriar. The Voinians forces are rolling east like an avalaunche ready to implode onto the galaxy in a fiery storm of war and death! I plan a good few more mission ahead plus a few sub-plots here and there.
And please voice your opinions, good or bad. Getting put down make me want to do even better just so I can show off afterwards.

T'wasn't a dig bro. I was just curious as to if you'd released any plug-ins officially yet or not. I've seen countless people waste months of times making websites and companies for their plug-ins only to never actually do any of the work for the plug-in and watch it die..
I'm a fan of EVO, and I'd like to see as many good plug-ins as possible. Plus, you've set down a precedent in the past by criticizing others work- which is certainly a good thing.. I'd just like to see what you come up with.
Well, so far work is going well. EVOGR is %40 completed, Confed Rule has been re-debugged and Exodus is (at this time) 65 juicy missions of plug-in goodness. I could release it at any time the way it is, so this is a confirmed release. Even if I release it in parts, the project is already half done. I've played through it and my god, it definately twists the imagination.
I should hope enthusiasm picks up, I'm planning abot 80 missions for Exodus, then I'll either upload it myself or post it to Bomb or Gildor.
^^
Nothing new to report, I just want to keep the string going until the next update.

For a quick update:
Confed Rule (EV) - 58 missions Exodus (Voinian) - 71 missions Invasion (UE) - 14 missions Corruption (FH) - 47 missions
It's all looking good so far. I'm nearly done with the first half of Exodus so I'll release it's sequal later, but 70 missions isn't bad for a half-finished plug. There is a lot of galaxy to conquer so I think I'll give it a break before total galaxy domination, otherwise the project will fall through.
For a change of flavour I'll be returning to Invasion, the UE plug I'm making for EVO. I don't expect it to be as big but just as rule-altering as my Voinian production.
Feedback at this point would be appreciated to encourage it's release

Er, the EVO board isn't exactly a busy board; there's no need to post a bump after only a day if you have nothing to say.

I saw it getting to the bottom of the screen so I bumped it.
What is wrong with this place? These plugs are really good releases... no questions, no queries, no comments, no enthusiasm whatsoever. I was so shocked by the lack of anyone else posting in this thread that I felt like giving up there and then.
Is there no demand for EVO plugs anymore? Or would I get a better response on EV Dev?

Don't take this the wrong way, but... so?
It appeared at the bottom of the screen for you, not for everyone; the number of topics you see changes depending on what you set your threshold to. Mine is set to 10 and it wasn't at the bottom.

The EVO board has been dull for a long time. I don't see what is so surprising about it.
As for why no one has posted in this thread, (and again, don't take this personally), why would they? You've listed a handful of plugins that you're developing, but provided only a little bit of information about what they are about. I'd recommend spending your time working on the plugs before you worry about advertising them or keeping people up-to-date about their progress; doing so only detracts from your progress.

There hasn't been a real demand for EVO plugs for a long time. Nova is considered by most to be a better engine for development, as it has tons more features. For simplified engines, EV is better than EVO, since EVO has that stupid-ass "turrets count as cannons" thing (I think), and it has been around longer.
EVO is the bastard child of the trilogy.

Pistgavin, have you considered writing for the port of EVO to the EVN engine? I agree that the EVO universe provides lots of great opportunities for expansion plugs, but registered users of EVN are a bigger audience right now, especially with all the new PeeCee folks.

I have to disagree with the 'everything has been done for EV classic that can be done' comment. Have you played Pale? Eye of Orion? Angels of Vengeance? All of these take EV in radically new and different directions.
We're getting more comments on EV Dev that EVN is hard to do add-ons for, because it is so self contained.
Don't get me wrong - I'm developing for the EVN engine, but only because, for the reasons Dr T gives, it has far more potential audience and a nicer engine. But, ultimately, the reason I took up plugin development was because I liked the Blake's 7 style universe of EV classic. I never really felt at home in the Star Trek or Babylon 5 style universe of EVO.

Since we are so close to completion, and taking you advice, I will give everyone the full lo-down on Exodus.
Pistgavin, dont give up! Your plug-ins are very interesting. Voinians going away from their space... Nobody has done that before, only Reign of The Voinians (both versions) had had a extension to Voinian storyline. And it was not the same subject. Invading the Miranu is a little weird though. It was done only Reign of the Voinians II, and even then it failed because the Zachit were too unified. And with explaining the Council, im definitely interested. You didnt just tell us enough. When we dont know, we have nothing to say.

Precisely what I mean. GS, Pale (and countless others) have stretched the ideas on EV so far that now it is exhausted. I actually have my own plug-in for EVC in development, but it involved adding a large portion of space to the outside of the galaxy. Very little flexibility remains in the storyline.
EVO has so much more potential. And sorry I can't give all the details until later in the week due to limited internet time.
Okay I changed my mind.
The Voinians are, as it were, 'sick' of fighting the human peoples. They are simply not good enough.
Voina's technology is outdated, it's slave population restless, her industry and economy in shambles. With continuing pressure and severe losses from both within and outside, the Voinians decide it would be within the interests of their survival to relocate.
They look to the north, and decide the Miranu's rich planets and weak defences would make a perfect vulnerable target. They wait, and prepare. Then they strike.
What happens next you can see for yourself in the plug, but let me assure you it involves 70+ missions of wholesome story-line goodness. Transporting Voinian evacuees, losing battles against the UE, winning them against the Zachit, putting down slave revolutions and commiting genocide, with slices of narcotics and corruption gently squeezed into the storyline.
As you progress up the ranks of the Voinian military, your privaledges and duties become more and more extreme. Fancy flying a dreadnought? Don't worry, you will.
I hope that has given you something to think about. Comments?

I am not explaining the Council I'm afraid, but it will be involved in the storyline, don't worry.
With interest having been picked up, I will resume work on Exodus. You could be looking at 80 missions if I'm feeling generous
yes go for it, i am running out of plug ins to play
------------------ do as you will ar it harms none that is the law so mote it be bright blessing.
As the Voinian empire as we know it is emptied, the systems they once owned are slowly but steadily claimed by the UE and various ex-slave races. I felt this was a nice little touch to the plug as you will notice when you play it: the vast wastes of Voinian space are of no use to the humans, but certain systems (Lapen, in the Otid system for instance) are useful and thus colonised after being abandoned.
I put the Dreadnought at a heavy price but I feel that it is too easy to obtain. After all, once you have the dreadnought, no enemy can every defeat you (especially in the Crescent). I feel that maybe I should up the price, or at least put a message in the read me saying that if you relish a challenge, stick to the Cruiser or Frigate. After all, you'll be practically invincible anyway.
As for the Council, I wouldn't say it is 'explained', just used in the story. I mean they wouldn't be pleased that the balance of power has been so drastically tipped in such a short period of time, and the Voinians don't belong in the Crescent. It is also interefering with their 'other' project, which is not explained in the plug but you will be able to make an educated guess when it comes up.
Well, more brain fodder. Any more comments? Btw development is happening now , after this is finished it will only be bug-fixing updates. If you want to see something in the plug, post it here and now - I can't add things later. I'm not garanteeing that what you ask for will be in the plug but it would be nice to see a few expectations or wishes met. For instance, if you have a particular grudge against the Huron rebels I could include a mission where you blitz the planet with chemical weapons (EXAMPLE. NOT ACTUALLY IN GAME (yet))
