More info on my character...
Name: Syar Iandor Rank: Cell Commander History: Born in the slums of Innor, Syar would have surely amounted to nothing, despite his brilliant mind, had it not been for an incident in a town he was visiting. A large group of army deserters had surrounded an IMA special forces unit and were engaging in a firefight. Syar saw them and helped the special forces unit kill the deserters.
One of the special forces officers in the unit was a high-ranking captain, who helped Syar enter the IMA army, and from there moved to special forces. After being promoted to the rank of captain, Syar intended not to seek furthur promotion. That is, until he married the daughter of the cell commander in charge of the Mark system. The commander took note of Syar, and eventually allowed him to be promoted to the rank of Cell Commander. Commanding the forces in the Innor system, Syar has become one of the most noted and dangerous Cell Commanders in the IMA.

Alright, Carnotaur, you can be a cell commander. After all, the Assembly is hardly united and a second writer for the Igadzra will demonstrate that quite well. I believe. Bear in mind a few notes: the main city on the planet Innor is Vora Demais, slums aren't a very common background (there's very little demand to live in a city, so people who can't afford it usually live in rural backgrounds), but do exist, and cell commanders don't have an entire star system or planet to themselves, in most cases (Cell 12 is also based in Innirian.) Choose a cell number to be, bearing in mind Cell 12 is taken (mine.) You may command only that cell without permission from me to command others for specific circumstances, and you may only use ships in Cell 12 with in-story permission. Finally, my AIM screenname is Dark Kshatriya and my email address is dark_kshatria@yahoo.com if you need to contact me about anything. Please don't screw up my race too badly, though.
Okay, and thanks. Here is the slightly updated basic info:

Also note that I'll have a few other characters, most of them being cell agents, along with Syar's wife.

Interceptors, How many should I build on a daily basis and what portion of Heavy Fighters should they replace? I say reduce HF to 7 and have 7 Interceptors built as well, but if I need to keep my fleet even I'll split 5-5.
------------------ "Paranoia is Life"
Just remember that Interceptors are easier and cheaper to build than Heavy Fighters.
Since I am not 100% clear on all the more minor rules, are you allowed to beef up your command ship slightly? For instance, if I had an Igazra as my command ship, could I add an extra phase turret or two, or perhaps some shield enhancements?

edit: updated to todays ships placements edit (hehe, I screwed up on the date): Here is the end game of Sole and my discussion my research:
----A shield generator which is about the same as the one you can get in the game. The shield generator is rather large and can not be mounted on old Azdara's. started the 30th of march, finished on april 6th. Status=finished being produced. ^^^^^^^^^ Now the Azdgari Aradas and Azdgari warships in the are being upgraded with it. started April 6th finished April 7th
---- A heavy Azdara which has the tech listed below, is slight bigger and slower, carries the new shield generator, and is outfitted with voinian armor (if I can get that to happen), and of course a few swivel phase cannons, it will also carry the turret/missile jammer. --It looks like a mutation between a arada and a Azdara. )started the 30th of march, Date finished unknown, partly relying on whether or not paranoid is feeling like sharing tech: estimated time finished= the 8th of april
----A device that jams all systems that target ships (turrets and homings weapons, does not drain fuel). )))started the 30th of march Finished on the 8th of april ------------------ "Chaos is our ally, discipline our mortal foe" --Azdgari Commander Long live the Azdgari!

Status of scout ships:sent out from Raigner and Diudir
My Raigner Azdara scouting party (5 ships that are taken from that planets defense) have traveled south from the 30-31-1-2 at four systems per RTD through: Dewe-Orarn-Garren-Timidor (refuel) then Kitrak-Kirrim(refuel)-DSN-1469-DSN-8209 then through Kelmaon-Emalghion-(stopping to refuel and tell Major about the Azdgari, finds out through them and goes into vionian space)-DSN-4743-Kraali Romit-Chens-Voinia
hired miranu party traveled from same location at 3 systems per RTD, Dewe-Orarn-garren, Timidor-Kitrak-Turfet, Zanat-Piriat-Smott, DSN-8619-DSN-9608-DSN-4044 (they are searching not going to a specific place so they missed outpost theta) ------------------------------------------------ Azdara party from Apert traveled to Huron passing through the Akrayhek Alliance (avoided renegades due to prior knowledge about some and just good luck for the human renegades)
Miranu party traveled from Apert, ended up at Akrayhek (wanderd through renegade space)

Red may have some stuff to say about that scouting, but until then, I'll assume you're in Akrayhek and my government will talk to you later on, when I find time to post.
Solel
Ahem. If Solel or Red would please answer this question...

Well, no. The only player who can really legitimately do that is Cresent, since she's a private captain. Otherwise, I'm considering all the ships in the navies of governments to be equal, each, in your case, being a stock Igazra initially. They could be 'beefed up' later, but that would be through projects and research. Sorry about ignoring the question.
Regards, Solel
Just an Engine upgrade and my Interceptors Major.
In progress is just outfitting the upgrade and a layer of dospect armor on all capital ships. ------------------ "Paranoia is Life"

Excuse my ignorance, Major, but I don't get your post. Why would you want the Adzgari to help the Voinians?

And that, my friend, was one hell of a typo.
Major: "Gravetic shield The gravetic shield is a simple design. Itproduces an electromagnetic shield around the hull of the ship. The shield is pushing outward. All solid objects will not be able to pass through. ETA: 2 days"
Can this shield be brought down? Or is it invincible to missiles. If it is than I think it is pretty unrealistic to produce it in two days even if you did prior research on gravity (or it could just not work extremly well).
I have similiar concerns, though really, I think that all research projects should have a 3 or 4 day minimum research times. I have been in many webstories where researching goes way too fast and it screws the whole thing up. I would highly suggest that.

Well, it is really 6 post research. The generator is the real component. The other things will just be addons.
The shield repulses anything made of metal. That includes ships, missiles, and metal pellets. It stays about 3 meters from the ship. It cannot be destroyed because itis a field type tech.
I will, however, raise the research time to 3 days.
(This message has been edited by Major (edited 04-04-2003).)
So, do you have some explanation as to how an electromagnetic field repulses anything made of metal?
------------------ ESPilot Take a line from any Star Wars movie. Replace certain words with 'spank': "The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Spank." "Queen Amidala is young and naive; you will find spanking her not too difficult." "And what of the Jedi?" "She should never have brought them into this. Spank them immediately."

If it can't be destroyed, that means invincibility. Revoked, unless you can show me a downside.
