i was thinking one night about the people who play this ev override game and was wondering how many players do you have and what is there status such as how much credits do they have and how many years have they been on the job
for me i have like 5-6 players and only playing with two at the moment one is like into 50 years on the job and is on the igadara mission and only has 2 million credits thought it be fun to do this

Can you explain what you mean? I am a little confused. Ah never mind. Pilots. It is an excellent question to ask.

Back when I was first playing EVO I had around 20 pilots or so.. for various things, including plug-ins, etc.. Now I have about 18, 11 or 12 of which I used for testing F-25 v.2.0.1.. and that was only one complete run through all of the missions. In terms of serious pilots, admitedly, I haven't got any real normal ones to compare to. My most distant pilot I believe is about 90 years into the game.. too many long hyperspace jumps, I guess.. And lots and lots of missions..

Hmm, let me think. gotta open up EVO to find out how old my pilot is.... and the verdict is... Hmm, why isnt he dead yet. do people live to 172 in the future? incidently. i have had the same pilot since i started playing the semi-public beta that was posted on the developers board many years ago.i think the longest i ever played EVO though was like 19 hours straight. at any rate i havent played in a long time. think its time to hook up my old, dented mac (hot it with a baseball bat when i got mad one time cause it stopped working. somehow the bat fixed it.) at any rate. im out.

20 pilots? You were seriously addicted! I have only about 10 pilots... And 18 pilots for 2.01? Man, betatesting must be troublesome then! Too many hyperspace jumps? Hehe. Which missions, the Igazra ones? Can you tell me all mission string you have on your most distant pilot?

yeah I only ever got about seven or so. 20 is ridiculous.
Lets see... I have a standard EVO universe pilot, completely generic with souped up UE Cruiser, half a dozen Igazra escorts, and of course more than half the universe dominated. The cruiser uses phase weapons and heavy rockets.
Another standard EVO universe pilot, flying an "enhanced" Azdgari Arada, with Dospect, engine upgrades and shield generator its nigh invincible. When afterburner is in use I can outperform Azdaras. My escorts on that pilot is an Azdgari Warship, for fighter support and 5 Igadzra Aradas, for long range (SAE) support, while not killing everything in sight before I get a chance too like a Igazra would.
A Reign of the UE pilot, flying a UE Dreadnought with enhanced neutron and phase turrets, heavy rockets (what can I say? I love 'em.), 2 UE Dreadnought escorts, basically complete ownage of the universe.
A Frozen Heart pilot that isn't very far in, flying a Snow Goose.
Oh, and maybe not exactly on topic, but I just recently started playing Escape Velocity, and my pilot there has a Rebel Destroyer with 4 proton turrets and... you guessed it, heavy rockets, with two Corvette and a couple Fed Gunboat escorts.

Well, I did love the game, but not that much. Back then I was first starting to make plug-ins and I needed a whole bunch to test out various stuff with. if you really want to be technical about it, I'd say maybe 9 or 10 were only fully developed pilots, because in order to expand on the mission strings properly I had to play them over and over to get the feel of them. In addition, the Hinwar/Emalgha string caught me off guard because there is a mission where you go to a Voinian station then ae supposed to go to the bar.. But I took off by accident and lost the string forever.. (I didn't know how to manipulate the data at the time) Also, quite a few were my brother's, that I hijacked. And early on, I was so bad at making plug-ins my pilots got messed up or stranded in the Ji Nebula quite often. Addicted? Hells yeah I was. But writing and releasing 4 plug-ins will do that to a person.
The only reason I have so many is because A. There are 5 different ways to finish F-25 v.2.0.1, depending on the decisions you make, and B. fixing and going over buggy missions.
And if you then add in times where I had bugs to fix, I'd have to duplicate the pilot, complete the mission, fix it, then do it with the dupe to make sure it works properly. In fact, all 18 were spawned from a single pilot- but they all branched off in different directions. The base one was "Bomb"- but from there I had to branch off "Bomb-Xarnez" and "Bomb- Kytaan"- then, with the Kytaan I had another branch off, so the pilots became "Bomb-Kytaan- Admiral" and "Bomb-Kytaan-Loyalist.." Etc. And then add in bugs.. yikes. It's like cell division gone bad.
Over the life of playing EVO, including duplicates I would make of Pilots b/c of critical decisions I was making (yes, I always like to have a back-up in case I screw-up), I have probably had 30-50 pilot files. Now, about 20-40 of those were all the same guy, just saved from various stages in the game. This was when I first really played the game and went about it really meticulously. That means only about 10-11 were actually different pilots developed from the ground-up, and at least 5 of those were used to test my plugs that I have partially developed over the years.
I have no idea how old my oldest pilot is....he was deleted a long time ago. My brother probably has had 5 pilots. Also, we have played EVO on a total of at least 3-4 different computers, and sometimes we didn't back-up our pilots onto disk before going to another computer, so we would start over again or have two or more pilots going simulatneously.

I'd say I probably have a dozen serious pilots. Maybe 14, tops. When you consider that there are two sides to the Voinian war, and three sides in the strand war, that gives you six permutations right away. Add one or two pirate king types, and a few attempts at domination, and the numbers soon mount up. I have always liked the early days in the game the best, when you're struggling to save up few hundred thousand, and two Helians are a real threat.
I also created a pilot (Captain Singleton) for the 'Crew of One Challenge', and one called Maximus for an attempt at galactic domination. He's Igadzra-friendly, and has dominated at least one planet in every Zidagar, Azdgari and lawless system. Most Voinian ones too. It's fun if you like fighting a bounty hunter every time you make a jump.
The rest of my pilots are plugin-specific. I would never risk corrupting a favourite pilot by adding a plug that I might later want to remove. My system of using names to identify which plugs to use with them has led to some pilots having rather strange second names!

Which plugin-specific? I cant believe you dominate Voinian planets, so much as you like them!
I have a few real pilots. I think I've got 10 total maybe 12. I can't get at my normal computer right now so I don't have an exact number. My main pilot has completed the U.E., miranu, and all three strand strings and has almost the entire universe conquered. All the other pilots are for different TCs and for experimenting(ie flying ships no sane person would ever think of flying).

Explain more. Do you mean cheat ships? Or ships that are made for testing? Or what?

Tell what? That the Azdara is the only fighter I ever flown and I outfitted it with Dospect Armor and a Shield Generator?

Good luck fighting a big battle Cade dont think you would last very long in a battle with that ship of yours hope you have others! BOOMING! **
Actually, a Dospect Azdara regenerates so damn fast that primary fire can't hurt it at all, and if it gets hit with a heavier weapon it will go flying like a rubber ball, so it's really hard to take down.

Heh heh... I still remember taking down a Voinian Frigate with only 4 Blaze Cannons because my armor regenerated so fast it wouldnt die. Rockets push it back colossally, but not SAEs if you dont dodge them. And what about Pursuit Missiles that have in their description that its specially made against figters?
Cries ( :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown: I only have 31 pilots! :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:
