The mission titles for "The Frozen Heart," missions numbers 179, 181, 183-6, and 190 are missing. Does anyone know what they are called? Also, missions #183 and #184 have absolutely no mission text, whatsoever! Can anyone help? Thanks!
~Ace

Being me, I'd save my pilot file, uninstall both EVO and FH, and redownload/reinstall both of them(to be really, really sure that it's a program/file problem, not a computer problem). Other than that, I'll check the descs when I get home, if someone else dosen't tell you first.

Thanks for the great suggestion Asc! I'll give it a try! I e-mailed Martin Turner about it and he said that all the missions are there and that it must be my fault (because I had to use Mission Computer to look into the files). I did, however, also find missing desc's in Femme Fatale as well. I looked at the missions (and related desc's) in Mission Computer. Many of the desc #'s are missing! That explains why I don't see any text in those missions. I played the plugs almost completely through, having to make a take off/land mission to set whatever misbits were supposed to be set for that mission, then continued on. I would, however, like to be able to play a plug from beginning to end without having to stop and find out why I'm not getting a certain mission...or having to fiddle with the misbits. Thanks again! ---------------------------- Tried it! Didn't work! Sorry!

Sorry, but this isn't supported.

But Bomb got Nova to work too on his emulator. If he can run a newer game, why cant Capt run a plug-in?
------------------ I am eager to try to ansver mission questions
I can, have, and do run plugins successfully! For instance, in EVO, I have played "Saboteur's Realm," "Beyond the Crescent," "Secession," "Galaxy's Edge," and "ROTUE" with no problems (or very few) at all! I have played FH and FF several times, unfortunately having to add a set/clear bit mission so I can get past those missions that, for whatever reason, do not have the mission text (desc's and their numbers are missing). I've gone through FH using MissionComputer (available in the addons section under Utilities) and found 1)Missions with missing mission text: #183, 184, 196, and 233-8. 2)Missions that do have some text, but which I am unsure of: #226, 227, and 242. All I'm asking is for someone to either list the missing text (along with its related number) here (or alternatively e-mail it to me)
Frozen Heart makes more demands than other EVO plugins.
Nova is a different issue — the software was substantially rewritten and it will respond differently from Override under emulation.
Capt Ace, you reported the same problem with another large plugin.
This suggests that either your setup or, more likely, Mission Computer are corrupting plugins in this way. I've never used Mission Computer. However, I do know that virtually every EVO editor ever made has the potential to corrupt plugins.
I'm sorry that I'm not willing to offer more help, but I'm simply not willing to support PC emulation — not out of any dislike of PCs, but because I have no way of testing the files through emulation. Likewise, as per the ReadMes of Femme Fatale, I would urge people not to open up the files because i) it takes the fun out of it and ii) it's a main cause of corruption.
Sorry.
Well, I unstuffed a new copy (actually, I keep the .sit files) and opened it up using only ResEdit. No difference. Why MissionComputer works just fine on 99% of the other plugs I use, but corrupt others is beyond me. Okay. I'll trash MissionComputer and ResEdit and never, no matter what, open up a plug again! When I get stuck, I guess that'll be my cue to trash that plug. So, I guess I'll never attempt to play FH again! Or maybe that's my cue to get rid of EV and EVO and find another time-waster.

Hey, you can open plugs. I have opened all plug-ins Ive played with ResEdit and they didnt get corrupted. I have played Secession, Beyond the Crescent, Reign of the UE, F-25, F-25 2.0, EVO Plus. I have played Pale and Talon in EV. And often used them when I get stuck. I can download FH myself on Friday (can access Mac only then) if youre willing to wait a few days, write down the descs, and send them via E-Mail to you. As seriously as it possibly can be, dont stop playing EV and EVO! Here are my feelings: :frown:. Ill lose one of the forum mates!
Edit- This was on a real Mac. Probably they are different. ------------------ I am eager to try to ansver mission questions

----------------- Thanks for the warm feelings, General! Yes, I can wait a while. Take your time, though! Don't wanna impose too much on your real life!
I didn't know Bomb got Nova to work on an emulated PC! When was this? Where have I been?
Mucho Thanko, Generalo! ~Ace

You asked the story behind by name once and you told yours too. So were sort of friends. Does taking my time mean I can pull it further off to Saturday or Sunday? Dont you remember Getting the F-25 plug-in to work thread? It was February. A few posts down, you say that yours dont work either. Then you work together with Bomb to make the plug work, and Bomb gets emulation to work. And having three smilies in your sig is exceptional, normally you have just one (grin), having three grins means youre extremely happy.
Sure, just work at it at your leisure. I can wait. Just to repeat: the text (and their related desc numbers) are for missions #183, 184, 196, 226, 227, 233, 234, 235, 236, 237, 238, and 242.
Thanks! ~Ace
Sorry I never got back to you... had a bit of trouble. I'll get back to you if I can finish all my other urgent projects...

No problem!
So Asc is going to tell them? That is as good, since my time was apparently very limited on weekend. I could get to Mac first to Saturday evening. Which I spent on playing Age of Kings online and beta testing F-25 2.01. I wrote htyang-lenghth bug report E-Mails to Bomb too, I reported 13 bugs, illogicalities, or strange behavrior. I updated the mail as I played, putting more bugs and editting them as I knew more by playing. It was very bothersome perfecting the E-Mail and took hours.
I don't know. I haven't gotten anything from him yet. I've played the plug and used "take off and land" missions to set/clear misbits for those missions I can't get to. I'm on the "Man slumped over mission computer" mission...trying to find him that is.

Again, if youre willing to wait a long time (three weeks) I can look the TravelStel up.
I've already looked the AvailStel up. It says he can be found on a planet/station in a Rigellian Buffer system. I've looked all over those systems but can't find him. He's supposed to go to Eden.
Probably it is low chance then? Look if its like 5% in the misn resource and hack it to 50%. Or prolly you have bad status. Or little rating.
Its avail is 10%. I've done most of the missions, got my galactic pardon and am well-liked in all systems. My combat rating is Legendary... I reset the avail to 50% and should be getting it, but I'm not.
