I agree completely. I will set up a confrence with all of the people that are on AIM

So after five days, I'm still wondering... What's the deal?

Havent had much time to post here recently. The deal is, we need more players. Maybe by early March we can start.

Could you clarify your question?

Oh sorry. I was planning to set up a confrence. We will have a brief conference when Spokekinspirit come online.

I had just been wondering if anything had been decided about the when, what, or who of the proposed story. But basically Zurg's answer was sufficient. Unless you know something else about it?

Ah. Well, that's true. He did answer the question already. Wheee for bad observations!
Regards, Solel
I probobly wont be involved in the sequel. If i ultimatly decide not to follow through kauthor is to take mod position.
Insanly yours, U.E. Admiral

I am the moderator. Vice Admiral Ipvicus should be ready to go in two weeks. Everyone, for now, start writing a research curve and email me with the research curve.

I'd like to join this game. I want to start a new government within the Voinian government: The Isled Technologies Instituation, also known as the ITI. Here is their background.
Since the Voinian Empire was young, it used overwhelming power to rule. It's fleets and armies would always crush the enemy with superior firepower and defences. As the years went on, the ITI was created to build newer, stonger weapons to counter the enemies weapons.
Decades passed, and the ITI had created the things that the Voinian Navy was known for; it's Nuetron technology as well as increadible armor. It wasn't until 5 years before the Voinians found the United Earths that a terrible accident happened. The ITI were supposed to be creating a supermissile capable of ruining the Emalgha homeworld of Emalghion. The gargantuan missile was created, and a year later, it was launched.
The missile had a slight glitch, caused by a Voinian defector belonging to the Emalghia. Instead of destroying Emalghion, the missile flew to the system of DSN-9418. The missile completely obliverated all life on the planet, as well as the planets atmosphere. The planet in DSN-9418 was now a lifeless grey ball of ice and rock.
The government figured that if the public found out about this catastrophy, the Empire would be in such disorder that it would collaspe. The ITI was shut down. All files were destroyed, and everything the ITI had worked so hard for was gone. The scientists were forced to stay in the system, and they could never leave. They started new lives, changing their identities. All memory of the ITI was gone.
It wasn't until 4 years later, did the Voinian civillians notice that DSN-9418 was gone. The government had kept it very quiet, but it was bound to leak. People started asking questions, questions that the government wasn't allowed to answer. A substitute answer was found, one that would not only cover up the ITI's accident, but also work in the Voinians favor.
They said that it was the fault of the United Earths. It began as only a rumor, but like a deadly virus, it spread. Finally, the government annouced that there had been a huge battle over the planet. They said that the UE provoked the fight, and had completely destroyed the Voinian fleet without mercy. Then they said that the UE fleet had destroyed what was left of life on the planet.
All history books were rewritten, all minds began to focus on hating the UE. Their hatred fueled the fire of war between the United Earths and the Voinian Empire, kept it burning so that it could never die out. Voinian children were taught that the UE were complete evil from the age of less than 7 years until they eventually ended school. The Voinians armies grew, as did their navy. Even the people who had started the rumors and knew that they were lies began to believe that it was the UE's fault, and that the UE must be destroyed.
More years past, and the ITI was reopened in secret. For all of the years of the war, the ITI worked on the one thing that they believed that the UE simply could not stop. They worked on creating the Dreadnaught. And they failed.
When the government saw that the Dreadnaught hadn't worked, they shut down the ITI again. It wasn't until recent years from now that the ITI was finally reopened for a second time. This time, it would stay secret. This time, no one would know what went on in the system of Isled. And this time, there would be no mistakes.
The ITI, with the help of Voinian resources, has finally created a navy for their own use. Along with brand new technologies, the small but strong navy has become very powerful.
Ships:
Isled Webfighter: The Isled Webfighter is completely drone operated. There are 50 Webfighters in creation, because they cost almost nothing to make. They have never even been used against a real threat. The Webfighter has only one weapon, the Interdictor Beam. This beam, while only a centimeter thick, has the ability to stop a ship in it's tracks. Because the beam by itself was not enough, all 50 Webfighters are placed in positions around the Isled system. Their purpose is to catch any intruder, gluing them to their spot so that they cannot escape and cannot attack. The beams do no damage at all, but the Webfighters have very sturdy armor. Because the Webfighter was build around the Interdictor Beam, there is no way to put the beam on any other ship, and there is no way to add weaponry to the Webfighters.
ITI Scorpion: The only true fighter in the ITI navy, the Scorpion is fast, armed with 3 pivoted Neutron Daggers, and has exceptional armor. Other than that, this fighter is completely normal. There are currently 6 Scorpion fighters in the ITI navy.
ITI Shroudship: The Shroudship is the most heavily special weaponry armed ship in the ITI navy. It's main ability is the sensor shroud, which hides all ITI ships from enemy sensors. Instead, it places many ITI ship markings at random places completely away from the real ITI ships. Another ability of the Shroudship is the Sniper blaze. With the Sniper, the Shroudship can target a weapon ship from across and entire system. While not very effective in general, the Sniper, if aimed proporly, can blow off an engine or a weapon from an extream distance. The last ablity of the Shroudship is the Shield Mask. This simple device hides the shield and armor status of all surrounding ships (even enemy) from the enemy. The ITI ships can still see all shield stats, but the enemy can't. There are currently 2 Shroudships in service.
ITI 'Dreadnaught': While not actually a dreadnaught class ship, the ITI Dreadnaught is a replica of the Voinian Dreadnaught, except without the failures. The ITI Dreadnaught is the size of a carrier, but carries 5 turreted Neutron Scythes and 2 turreted Illusion Missile launchers. It can carry all 6 of the Scorpion fighters as well as the 2 Shroudships. There is only one Dreadnaught, the Shade.
Technologies and Weaponry:
Interdiction Beam: The Interdiction Beam is the very similar to the tractor beam of the Miranu, except that it doesn't pull as much as it does keep in place. It still pulls slightly on the target, but with several beams convering on one target, the target is rendered immobile until the beams are turned off. This means that the target cannot turn, cannot go forwards or backwards, and is virtually a sitting duck for missiles.
Sensor Shroud: The Sensor Shroud completely clouds the enemy ships radar. Because all ITI ships are colored completely black, if the Shroud is up, it is next to impossible to find the enemy until you have visual contact. If the ITI ships go out of the Shrouds range, however, they return to the enemies sensors.
Neutron Dagger: Taking the Neutron blaster one step up, the Dagger is a small beam weapon. It is short ranged, but packs a serious punch.
Neutron Scythe: The Neutron Scythe is the big brother of the Dagger. It has longer range, but does less damage.
Sniper Blaze: The Sniper Blaze was named after the UE's Blaze cannon, because it is exactly the same color. The only weapon in the ITI's arsenal that can be noticed, the Sniper is excellent at taking out small probes at very long ranges, as well as sniping on-planet weaponry.
Shield Mask: The Shield mask masks the shield and armor ammount of all ships. It only applies to the enemy.
Illusion missile: The Illusion missile is a very tricky device. On the radar, it appears as one missile until it gets very close to the target ship. One it is near the target, the radar is tricked into showing that the missile has now become many missiles that are all around the target ship. This often causes fighter pilots to make stupid mistakes and lets the missile's targetting job be a little easier.
I like your concepts and how you've already started. Contact me on MSN at kauthor@hotmail.com, and we will talk more.

Sorry, but what is a research curve? <edit> Player list updated. <edit>
It was a suggestion I made. It basically involves you planning out some, if not most or all, of your research projects for the game before we start, that way we don't need to clear anything during the game and it can move quickly and smoothly without involving OOC flames.
Speccops is not playing as the Emalgha. SilverDragon is not playing as the South Tip Conclave, but he might do Hizdriar.
I won't be able to do anything this week because of school complications, and next week because I am going on vacation during spring break. Even the week after that things are pretty hectic because I have a leading part in my school's one act play. Maybe we could start getting things together next weekend and start within a week or two from there? I think at the moment there aren't near enough players or a concrete enough storyline to start. If we get these things cleared up I would be happy to play as a united government of the three strands based off what I had at the end of EoD.

I will be willing to play as the little aliens in-between Miranu and UE space. I have limited time, thus I can't go for any real big nation or anything like that. Assuming I'm allowed to play as these aliens (whose name I will decide later), it's pretty obvious that I will have no ships, no techs, no weapons when I start out. I will develop them as I play.
