Kauthor; I still see no reason to have it here and on the WDC board at the same time.
On a side note, seeing as how you mentioned there being two mods, I would prefer if these mods had a lot of experience. Ipvicus is my first pick as mod. If no one else wants to do it or no one else can do it very well, I suppose I could also be a mod (I have a ton of experience, but moderating can be a burden and a pain).

Carno; The two mods are Ipvicus and REDchigh. Is the issue of the planet resolved yet?
Cresent; running a government is actually not as difficult as it's made out to be. Eve of Destruction was only my 1.5th webstory. However, you are correct in disliking the thought of handling shipcountit's nothing more or less than a pain. I am unsure as to what governments are currently available, but I would recommend that if you do choose to be a government, do NOT be a renegade government.
I'm not sure how it works being a private captain. If you do that, it seems to me you would be focusing more on plot and character development (which I love :D) than battles. I'm sure it could be done, but it's a question of what your interest is. If you want it to be more of a game-type thing, by all means leap for a government. But if you are in it more for the writing, go for a small group. (I made the error of going for writing with the Miranu...I lost so much of my time that...oh. Painful. But it was a great writing experience.)
All; To keep being random, I do not intend to post every day this time. No sir. I will post, at the maximum, twice per week in this sequel. I carried EoD on my shoulders almost the entire way. I will not do so again. (I know I sound bitter, but I'm just trying to inform you of my intentions so that no one gets surprised.)
AnywayI hope I helped.
Regards, Solel

Solel; okay, that sounds good to me. And yes, the planet thingy was resolved. I get DSN-8619, and the Emalgha get another new planet instead.
Where is this other planet located?
I forget. Ask Ipvicus for details.
Thanx Solel. I do have some ideas for being a private captain. I probably can't write as good as most of you but I'd like to give it a shot.

The Udun
-----------------
Physical Description:
The Udun are rather hardy, capable of withstanding many injuries without being fatally wounded. They have a second liver, dark blue blood, and most of their major internal organs can re-build themselves.
They are often quite tall, averaging about 6' 2" or 6' 3" high. They are rarely below 6 feet. Their skin is grey, and can be either dark-ish gray or a pale grey. Their hair is always either white, black, or grey, and they will often have somewhat long hair, even men. Their eyes are pale blue, grey, or brown. They are strong physically, almost always stronger than your average human. Their foreheads have some small ridges, and their ears are pointed, like the elves from human mythology.
Mental Description:
For the last several centuries, the Udun have kept to themselves. Their early history was laced with wars, but the number of such wars and battles has decreased steadily. Until recently, the Udun believed themselves to be the only inhabitants of the galaxy. However, now the Udun believe that there may in fact be other people out in the great expanse of space. They have even begun to explore their own home system, sending out their primitive space vessels towards the other planets in their system. Already, they have begun work on colonizing Endar, a neighboring planet to their own homeworld; Airune.
Mentally, the Udun can be exceptionally cruel and militaristic, but at the same time they can be equally friendly and caring for one another. Paranoid to a degree, the Udun are quite reasonable and not apt to react irrationally. They are exceptionally intellegent, and this is demonstrated in their recent breakthrough in space-fairing technology.
Recent History:
Fourty-five years ago, several large governments on Airune engaged in a small scale thermonuclear war. Though the war was short (it only lasted 7 days), it was devastating and took the next fifteen years cleaning up the damage done by it. During this time, the Udun gradually united under a single global government.
During the last 28 years, the Udun have begun their space exploration program. Already they have build dozens of satellites which orbit their homeworld, have explored and begun mining operations on their two moons, and have even charted much of the nearby inhabitable world of Endar. As they begin work on setting up a colony on Endar, the Udun Federal Directorate (the government of the Udun) have also begun to face the reality that there may be unfriendly aliens in the depths of space. Because of this, the Directorate has begun to construct several massive battleships in the case that such an enemy threat be encountered. At the same time, they have attempted to contact friendly races, but so far they have found none.

I just changed my mind about the status of my navy and all that. When the webstories start, I will only have a few primitive ships (basically, just what we have right now in real life). But, as the webstory continues, I will
Okay, I can see that if something isn't done soon to jumpstart this project that "EoD2" will be dead before it starts. If it isn't already. Here's what we need, and soon:
Voinian Empire- EMPTY Emalgha Protectorate- EMPTY United Earth Confederacy- -REDCHIGH-?? Strand Triumvirate- (Formerly the Azdgari Empire) Vice Admiral Ipvicus Miranu Star League- Solel
Now, in addition to these there are a multitude of smaller governments and independant worlds that could be played. Zurg, Kauthor, Crecent, Major, any of you guys that wanted to play minor govs, please post again with any important information about your gov.

Give me the status of ALL major governments and I can easily cook up a good plotline which will include lotso wars, conflict, killing, gore, bloodshed, etc. ; )
Here is my updated info for the Udun.

Know this:
The Miranu will only enter conflicts if they believe justice has been violated somewhere. I really detest keeping track of all my fleet numbers, hence this statement.
However, if I am required to enter into one of these "webstory-required" conflicts, I will make it worth my time to create some havoc.
I assume that was what you wanted to know, right Ipvicus?
With the lack of availible players, Ipvicus and Solel decided just to cut out the Crescent (the strands, miranu, north and south tip, etc.) from the story. At my insistence, I was allowed to create this, which explains how this happened. All of the following has been cleared by Ipvicus and Solel, excluding a few nitpicks which we're just going to ignore.
After the defeat of the Strandless Redemption League military by the South Tip Conclave, the rulers of the League were quick to submit to the will of the Conclave and of their allies, the Azdgari. As Conclave isolationism continued to increase, the relations between the Miranu and Azdgari improved somewhat but never reached the level of friendliness that had once existed between the League and Miranu.
It was during this time that the Zidagar at last fell to the Azdgari, and at last the Azdgari reached its largest ever held borders. Though the majority of the Zidagar people seemed to accept their occupation, the majority of them still resented the Azdgari and plotted at once to free themselves.
After some time, the League rulers, still stinging from their humiliating defeat at the hands of their ?inferior? allies, began secretly rebuilding their naval forces. Concealing this military buildup from the Conclave who periodically went into League space to ensure that they did not come to power again.
Sending out their spies, the League soon made contact with Igadzra and Zidagar dissidents, who were also angry with the Azdgari and Miranu. The Secret Alliance was now formed, and together the three races began to build up vast armies and fleets of ships, all hidden from the eyes of the Azdgari, who believed that they were undefeatable.
As the months weared on and the League, Zidagar, and Igadzra appeared to exist peacefully, the Azdgari and Miranu entered into a period of complacency. They distanced themselves from the conflicts of the UE, Voinians, and Emalgha, and believed they had entered into the golden age of their civillizations. It was not to be.
After several years, the Secret Alliance had built up adequate forces for their first strike. Integrating technology stolen from the Azdgari and Miranu, they were at last ready. The only thing they were waiting for now was the departure of the Conclave, whom they believed could pose a major threat if they attacked the Azdgari and Miranu. At last, they did. Their colony ships completed, the Conclave civillian population left the Milky Way. However, the plans of the Secret Alliance went awry, as the Conclave left behind a sizable force of ships. A way to defeat them as well would have to be reached.
It came in the form of Admiral Nakara, an unhappy Conclave officer with a bad service record. Contacted by the League, Nakara offered to supply the Secret Alliance with technology, tactical information, and ways to defeat Conclave technology. After several more months, the Secret Alliance was indeed ready.
It happened without warning. Seemingly out of nowhere, fleets of League Ships struck out into Conclave and Azdgari space. The battlefleets sent to stop them were defeated, but most of the Azdgari fleets placed in Zidagar and Igadzra space never made it out of their systems, for the Zidagar and Igadzra appeared with their own fleets.
The war went horribly at first, but soon it began to even out as the Miranu began to enter the conflict. The losses for the Azdgari, Conclave, and Miranu were still severe. The Conclave took the brunt of the wrath of the League, and it was not long before they were defeated utterly. Within another month, the last Conclave ship had been destroyed. The whole of Azdgari space, with the exception of the Azdgari core worlds, was devastated beyond belief. The Miranu at last sent all their ships into Azdgari and League space, and in a gigantic battle which took place in multiple systems on the same day, the fleets of the Secret Alliance and of the Miranu and Azdgari essentially self-annihilated each other.
The war would have continued indefinitely, if it were not for the intervention of the long dormant council. Seeing that the strands would indeed destroy themselves, and their neighbors the Miranu, in their huge war, they at last decided to stop the war. The leaders of all the involved governments were called to Gadzair, where during a 8-hour meeting a peace proposal was at last reached. The terms, however, were harsh. The majority of the remaining warships were destroyed or handed over to the Council, who would put down any war that any of the governments began.
Another term the Council set down was for the good of the UE, Emalgha, and Voinians. The Council feared that it would not be long before the UE, Emalgha, and Voinians were brought into the conflict, which could set off another unstoppable war. Because of this, they had all hyperspace links to the entirety of the Crescent sealed off. And thus, the Crescent disappeared to the UE, Emalgha, Voinians, and their own close-by neighbors.
Dang........there go all my favorite ships.......you guys are going to have to email me a map or something of the still existing systems and who commands them before this story starts........
Well don't blame me. Twas not my idea.
My character info will come late, but fairly soon.
After several hours of trying to figure out a way to keep this story from killing itself before it even starts several of us decided that the best way to do it would be to cut out the Crecent entirely and focus the story on the Voinains/Emalgha/U.E. and surrounding area.
So, new government list:
United Earth Confederacy- OPEN (I havn't been able to get Redchigh to commit) Voinain Empire- Major? Emalgha Protectorate- OPEN Iothe- Solel Southern Republic- Zurg?? Udun Federal Directorate- Captain Carnotaur Free Hinwar Rebellion- OPEN Undetermined Independant Governments- OPEN
I have a new race and I need someone to play them. You can create your own ships, outfits, anything. The race name is Maccir. Maccir is the creator of the North Tip Renegades, and it is very angry with them for making a peace deal. In a rage, it sent out an energy wave destroying renegades in the North Tip. Some renegades got away. Wait and see what will happen. And Maccir is also the enemy of the Zachit.

Kauthor, the Maccir are no longer necessary, as the Crescent problem has now been dealt with. No one is to play the Maccir, but rather one of the open government slots. (Emalgha, UE, Voinians, Hinwar)
Originally posted by Cresent: Am I still a private captain??
Certainly. You fit into the slot at the bottom reading "Undetermined Independent Governments". Don't let it fool you; you don't have to be a government if you don't want to be.
As an aside, I've decided that Iothe will initially specialize in ion weaponry, so as to preclude objections from Carnotaur *cough.

Then is there any POINTS in having the Zachit around? If not, then I will like to take over the UE. Expect a post once a week.
