To get Igadzra missions you need to find the person in the miranu bar. To get the Zidigar missions you need to defend an outpost, how do you get the Azdgari ones?

If you are having trouble getting the mission, even if your combat rating is high, get a delivery to South Tip Station. That usually works

First if not said before welcome. I would also recomend having a Cresent Warship because the campaign can be demanding. Good choice for starting the Azdagri string which is debatibly the best government. After completing the Azdgari string you may want to do the vionain one as many people do (or visa versa)
Oh but if you look in the upperright hand of the forum screen you will see the hyperlink "search". A ten second search found what you were looking for. People get annoyed at reapted questions and it causes clutter so I would recomned using that first.

It is a bit annoying, but it won't be as strictly enforced like "BLORT YOU. YOU MUST SEARCH OR BE DAMNED FOR ALL ETERNITY.." Some mods in the past have run a tight ship with that sort of thing, but as long as my regime goes I won't really be locking them down unless they become stupid or excessive. This board's had a cool little resurgence past week or two and I want it to continue for as long as possible, so I'll be a little bit more lax with what I lock and what not. I don't speak for EVula, but I'm sure he'd agree things are going pretty well right now.

About getting a Crescent Warship - you don't want to do that before the first mission - it has quite a tight deadline, for which you need a 1-day-jump-ship. I think that is the only such mission they give you though.
So I won't be able to complete this mission with my new Voinian Cruiser? Darn it. Sounds like I'll be doing the Zidigar missions instead

But if you do that you will get a average warship (you get powerful ECM though, which is very helpful against Hunters), instead of a super-fighter and Experimental Shield Generator that has a crazy regeneration speed, which combined with Dospect Armor makes you invincibile.

pistgavin here.
I do believe that you are talking out of your arse.
The Zidara is, arguably, the best ship in the game. Maybe when it is controlled by CPU it isn't so good, but upgraded it has speed, power and a fighter escort. Admittedly, the fighter bay takes a frustrating amount of space with only 2 fighters, but you can take practically any ship in one.
Got to admit though, the Azdara is damn good.

The following three ships are invincible when properly upgraded: Voinian Heavy Fighter, Azdara, Crescent Fighter. You need the Azdgari Experimental Generator though...

Invincible ships: Those you go and make yourself or edit.
Your "best ship" is a matter of personal preference. A person who finds thems "invincible" with an Azdara might get their butt shot off flying an Igazra but the person who prefers the Zidara would get plastered in a Voinian Frigate.
It's your style of play and it's your ship. Somebody who prefers flying circles around his opponents probably isn't going to think a Voinian Cruiser is so hot.

True enough. It's also a matter of piloting skills (such as circling and ability to make a successful rocket taunt) and location; if you are in the Crescent in a Voinian Frigate, you will be able to wreak havoc. If you're in UE or Voinian space, phase cannons may not that much.
I just happen to like the fighters more than the big bad warships.
I find the Zidigar annoying and nothing better (grumbles arnd rambles on). The computer operated Zidigar ships drop like flies. With the right piloting skills it can be pretty good though. Voinian Cruisers would definately not be a good choice for the beggining of the Azdgari missions. Choose whatever ship suits you best then choose a mission that helps that kind of ships. I.E. (my opinion)Fighters/ small warships benefits form the Azdagri missions, the miranu missions are good for traders or for people who like ships kin to the lizara.

Right. AI Zidaras are destroyed before they can do heavy damage. Against an Igazra it does only 40% damage. Against Adzgari it doesnt much better because of the swarms of Azdaras coming from a Adzgari Warships. Zidaras are miserably inferior to both Strands. I dont know if I am bad pilot then, but im having troubles defeating Igazras. Phased Beam must be correctly aimed or it wont do damage, and it has drained my fuel before I have done much damage. What im supposed to do after that? Lob as many Dispersal Rockets in front of the Igazra as I can?

Yup. Well I haven't played as them for a long time but you might be able to fit a normal gun on the ship as well as the phase beam.
I like (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard4.html#zidara")Zidaras(/url) a lot, actually -- not enough to say they're the best ship in the game, but enough to agree that doing the Zidagar missions is pretty much as good as doing the Azdgari missions and definitely better than the Igadzra ones.

You have a "regime"? Wow, can I be a dissident?

I dont like them, because theyre hard to aim. Will try though. Some Dospect will be good, if I dont lose too much space. If it doesnt work, ill just get a UE Cruiser with max turrets, beams, and rockets. But how many launchers should I get ? Do I need the speed upgrades?
(This message has been edited by General Cade Smart (edited 03-11-2003).)
On topic: You get the first Azdgari Mission at South Tip Station. You will require a long range and small ship. One capable of a hyperspace jump every day. I would suggest a UE Scoutship or an Arada. Miranu Courier wouldnt be a bad choice either. Once you complete this first mission, upgrade to a midrange warship. Speed is important when fighting the Zidagar and running from swarms of SAEs

Yes, I looked at my old pilots and found you can easily upgrade it with a normal turret. If it fits your style use the avaible guns/turrets or maybe you should get an sae missle launcher. Or to finish off an enemy you could capture or hire good escorts.
