EVO seems alot slower than her sister, escape velocity, and i cant tell whether its this comp or if it is actually suppose to run slower than EV. Does Overide run Slower than EV? (gameplay right now is at 200 and is still slower)

Are you running an emulator? It shouldn't be slow at 200... Maybe give it more memory.

Indeed i am running a Basilisk II emulator, but it works perfextly fine on EV...
EVO requires more memory than EV... I don't know how to increase memory on a windows, sorry.

When i turn Caps on the speed actually gets choppy like its lagging(and hardly increases game speed). Im trying soemthing but i acidentlly erased mt emulator. (dont ask, i know im dumb) im in the process of getting it back, I'll post again when i get it back to see if increased memory helps.

Yeah, I thought that was the problem. EVO does tend to perform worse in Basilisk than EV, and alloting more memory to EVO (which often requires alloting more to Basilisk first) usually will do the trick. I've also tried to do my best with minimizing extensions, a practice I got pretty good at after having to run EVO on my PowerMac 8100/110 before it broke...so now under emulation EV and EVO run at about the same speed as what they did on my Mac.

I'm not sure if it works with EVO, but I remember when people were trying to get EVN to work under emulation, SoftMac was the closest to working before the latest patch to Basilisk was released (but it never actually worked with Nova).
Originally i went with Basilisk II becasue it was an easy product to use and install. Looks like its time to do some reasearch. :rolleyes:
I know this is going off topic for this board.. but I'll give it a go anyways.
Noob, I'm trying to get system files(7.5.3) onto the mac harddrive i made in basilisk, but how do you do it without running the emulator? I downloaded the files from the apple website.. at a loss. Thanks for the help.. - Josh

If you already have the 19 parts of 7.5.3 then the hardest is done. This is an extremely helpful step by step tutorial that can help even the most clueless person. thanks for the help.. i got it running fine on system 7.5.5 files, unstuffed and installed ev and evo, however i get an error 'cannot open monitor something something id- 3'. i think its something to do with the system version i'm using? i dunno, in any case i'll just wait for the 9500mac i ordered to get here next week

Actually this is a common error in emulating that can easily be fixed. All you have to do is go into the Basilisk II GUI file and change the screen (moniter) hieght and with. I think it has to be set at 848 x 648 and it should work fine :). If that screen resoultion doesnt work just mess around with that file, u'll get it.
