are you kiddin? killin people might help. just stick to places like Huron and Talii, where the pirates arent too heavy i guess. maybe im missing the point of your question?

I know u have to kill people, I'm just wondering if there's any special area or strategy or anything that u use, I find killing pirates to be rather slow going, they just don't have enough crew per ship.

Combat rating is based on the total sum of all the crew of all the ships you have destroyed. I forget the exact numbers (someone can help me out if Blackfire really wants details) but, obviously, this system places more weight on ships with high crew numbers. Your best bet is to destroy lots of Human and Voinian ships. Crescent and Strand warships are huge in size , but due to the high technology, have low crew numbers (check this out next time you are in a shipyard).

Hi, I think that Mahayana has said it right.
Go near Voinia to have to face many ships with high crew members.

Another thing as important is writing properly (!) with the right spelling and grammar and blabla.

Have a nice day.

As far as places go, by far the easiest is cleansing the Proxima Nebula area of human renegades using Crescent tech. The turncoats should provide a good boost, and the going is much quicker than it is with fighting Voinians.

and i remember trying to kill alot of freighters. killing traders doesn't bring too harsh a penalty.

I wish thing were as simple as in EVC, where u just took over all planets and blew up everything in the galaxy, and by the time u were done u were Ultimate.

Works the same way in EVO. I can guarantee that if you accomplish what you mentioned, you'll have an ultimate combat rating. That is, if it doesn't create a numerical overflow... πŸ˜‰

Voinian ships have the most crew. my strategy for getting an Ultimate combat rating is to do the UE string and kill the dreadnought. Voinian Cruisers will give a large boost as well.

Is Ultimate the highest rating possible? I'm hoping there's somethin like "Beyond Ultimate" or like that...

Yes. If it wasn't, they would have to call it 'Penultimate'.

 Oh ha ha. VERY funny. Very funny indeed.
I got my ultimate rating mostly from shooting down renegades... and maybe 19 Voinian Cruisers and Frigates... and a Dreadnought... πŸ˜„

Hey, Celkan... According to webboard guidelines, your signature is not long enough. Could you add something so it takes up more space πŸ˜‰

I believe that is technically part of his post. We're just supposed to assume it's his sig though, or at least, that seems to be the intention.

On closer inspection, this is true, I have found.

It would be much harder to tell if he used the correct number of dashes.

No... I want to be the first to apologize. I wasn't trying to "tease the n00b," I just thought the length of your sig was kinda...well, interesting. πŸ™‚ But I guess it wasn't a nice welcome to give you, and I hate when people look down their noses at newbies. We were all newbies once, and I still respect them. So if you offended, I apologize, and I would like to take this time to formally welcome you to the boards. No hard feelings, eh?

Welcome to the EV Override Webboard, Celkan Ailann Harkinian! Good luck! πŸ˜„

None of you really offended me... its just I come from the ph0rum5 they call Megatokyo... they really crack down on n00bs there... at least some of the people do. And so when I thought I'd just add a little note about the chronicle I'm writing, and a plugin my friend and I were thinking of doing to go along with it, and then there are these comments flying about signature length? It's too much for my half-Zorian brain to handle... so I just assumed it was 'tease the noob' day or something... Its okay.
