I keep returning to EVO 1.0.1 due to the strange behaviour of SAEs and SADs in EVO 1.0.2.
Which is the most effective Plug-in Fix that solves this problem?
What caused the change in homing weapon behaviour?
I'm referring to the circles of 8 that SAE, SAD and Needle Missiles do in EVO 1.0.2, compared to their correct behaviour in EVO 1.0.1.

(ignore)SAE and SAD modules are supposed to spin (the downside of their power and range), and needle missiles spin if you have a needle jammer.(/ignore)

I don't know what plug-in fixes there are, but I believe the current version of EV Override has several homing weapons set to guidance type '2', which was 'smart homing' (ie. missiles and seeker drones) in Escape Velocity, but is obsolete in EV Override and not supposed to be used. This causes some erratic behaviour. They should be set to guidance type '1', which was 'dumb homing' (ie. torpedoes) in Escape Velocity, but is now just 'homing'.

The homing fix on the EVO addons page could fix this.

Hello David, How can I change the guidance type? Will changing this using ResEdit cause any other side effects? Thanks.

You just open up the data file in ResEdit - I think it's Override Data 2 - open the wëap resource, open each homing weapon, and change Guidance from 2 to 1. There shouldn't be any negative side effects, but you should keep a backup of the data files in case you make a mistake.
It would be simple to whip up a plug to do exactly what David described.

To David Arthur, Thanks for your help.
I've just discovered 'Homing Fix' ( that is in "Extra Weapons 1.0.0 " ) by Martin Harding does exactly what you proposed.
It has solved the problem of the weird behaviour of SAEs, SADs and Needle Missiles that was introduced in EVO 1.0.2.

To Martin Harding, Thank you for your excellent Plug-in.
