Is there anything i can get from this village? how can I get the people to talk to me? is this where I can find the blue mushroom?

Only useful if you are the Ranger. mushroom I think is one screen north from there, top left in a hidden path

ive been busy with my schoolwork and the only game ive beaten is the original, so ive just started as a ranger and ive found gewin and the traveling merchant, and gewin (and some people on this web board) mentioned something about norhgia, from what ive gathered i know that his village is north of the north gidolan entrance and south of the blue mushroom in a secret clearing of forest, but i found NG entrance in my last game by accident. So, where's norhgia? relative to like say the plains of the endless winds entrance or the varendeep lake. ------------------ "you have to go for miles over tall mountains. From the verandeep lake cave on the south side, go south 3 screens. 2 screens south is where the blue mushroom is. 4 screens south of the cave is where the NG tunnel entrance is.
The village is in the middle of the map vertically, and towards the southern end horizontally.
