Teh‘Rak Governance

Message to Yomin Adun , coded

Meet me at the Dock 55, at 13:12 precise and we will discuss privately our respective future.

A Message from Uli

NSI-4200

The system was perfectly calm before the arrival of the Azdgari, patrolled by eight thousand Teh’Rak ships. However, both sides did not fire immediately at each other. A few seconds later, the Horosk navy entered before the Azdgari and surprisingly, AIR started to shot at them. Then the Horosk cloaked an left the system.

One BG was sent to NSI-826 to verify and help in case they went in direction of the Free Trade Guilt’s territory. Also, a message to Parliament Hill telling that there are strange things happening around

Akrion III

The Thoron Energy Projector had been completed and could now equip the T.R.S.A.. The principle point of the TEP was that it provides a pyramidal volume of thoron that can take many shape in various directions and be more or less concentrated. A greater concentration of thorons over a small area is stronger against weapons and the weaker field ensuring a good level of protection over a wider area. Equipping all ships, its tri-dimensional properties are that any foreign ship passing through it will suffer a low level of malfunction due to the interference of the thorons with the ship’s systems. The range of the TEP is variable: from short to very close. The close option is an additional layer of shield that is very tight and powerful. It can only be use for a short amount of time (ten minutes) to let the usual shield recharge, then the TEP shuts down completely for twenty minutes. The TEP has a medium rate of recharge.

The power of the TEP in shipyard units: maximum external shield / max concentrated / dispersed

Fighter: 30 / 25 / 20
Missile Boat: 35 / 30 / 25
Defiler: 70 / 60 / 50
Desecrator: 140 / 120 / 100
Dragon: 140 / 120 / 100
Lion Spear:210 / 180 / 150
Necromancer: 420 / 360 / 300
Pathogen:700 / 600 / 500
Battleship: 1 400 / 1 200 / 1 000
Death Ray: 350 / 300 / 250

Space-Dock: - / 1200 / 1000 for each emitter
S-Ds have multiple TEP emitters (6) to cover all angle since they are much bigger than ships. Also, they do not have the capacity to create a field around the dock so it relies on its usual shielding system to provide the all-around protection. They are more powerful and recharge much quickly than their T.R.S.A. counter parts.

The huge number because it is their optimal level of work so they can drop a lot if a pilot or captain decides to use a lot its TEP. So a TEP at ten percent of its normal capacities mean that a battleship will be able to create a bubble of thoron shield of power 140 or a concentrated projection of 120 or an enlarged one of 100.

Horosk R &D; Technical Report
The recent ship power optomisation has produced fair results, enhancing shields for the most part, but also enhancing armour due to the SFR, and slightly improving energy armour. While the improvement is not massive, it is influencing decisions to use the EMC to completely update all ship designs, and make them more efficient. Currently, however, this will be delayed until yet more new technology is obtained, in order that the current fleet refit is not a waste of time.

The Azdgari fleets send a broadcast to the Teh'Rak...
Message to: Tah Rak
From Azdgari
Now is the time to Strike the Strand League! We, the Azdgari, have it in our blood to despise the Zidigar/Igadzra Strand League, and although we've covered it up for nearly a generation, Time has come for our revenge. Will you help us devastate the Strand League? If not, our weapons are already armed, after all. You have 3 minutes. No stalling, Reply.

"Sir! We haven't contacted the Kayans about Stalker missiles yet. Our Cruiser project is frozen."
"Damn how did we forget? Send them a message! Send!"

Message to: Thunder of the Kayans
From: Redchigh of the Azdgari
We would like to ask you for your stalker missile and enhanced defence pod technology, for integration into the Azdgari Supercruisers. As for the Stalker missiles, we'll be putting them on Laziras and Aradas, and putting Horosk Stalker Missile Turrets on my Supercruiser. Thank you. We'll give you anything we have... Phased beamers perhaps? Longer range than Duelbeam weaponry....

{Highest Encryption Militarily Possible}
Here are the details of Operation Svik.
Teh'Rak will be persuaded to send a fleet to escort my Supercruisers on an attack on the Strand League or Kayans, preferably SL. Upon reaching their destination, the Supercruisers will wipe out most of the Akrahd fleet, leaving a few to the Strand League to take care of. As for possible help, here's our request.
1. An acceptable SL military target, to be defendable.
2. Kayan in defending Azdgari space.
3. Any availible warfleets, to strike the Akrahd while their fleets are away.
Number one is the most urgent, I'll appreciate a reply soon.
Thank you, and long live the Galactic Community.
PS> The operation's first stages have started. The Horosk will help strike the Teh'Rak space, and I had to test them to see if I could trust them in a military operation.

OOC: Umm... Redchigh? 7 million stalker missiles? At 50 kilograms each, that's 175,000 tons of weapon space you're taking up with missiles alone. I'm not sure if that's what you intended, but I thought I'd at least point it out. (By the way, it's okay that you used StalkerMissiles, since I intended to make those available to the entire Galactic Community.)

Engineers working on the tachyonic shield subassemblies continued to design a way to implant tachyonic shield generators into the streamlined hull of the re-designed Zira. By their best estimates, they would be finished within another week, and ready for field tests.

###Point of Origin: Office of the Prime Minister, New Kayia, Galactica###

We will be happy to help defend your space while you act out this plan against the Teh'Rak. When you are ready to put your plan into action, I will increase Kayan patrols along your eastern borders, to help defend your space while your forces are away on their mission. No doubt the fake attack will need to be in Strand League space in this case, since the Teh'Rak would be suspicious if you were to launch an attack against the Kayans at the same time we are defending your space.

With luck this plan will succeed and bring increased security and peace to the Galactic Community.

We hope you will be able to put it to good use for our mutual defense.

A pair of scientists looked out from a large, curving window into the wilderness beyond. In the sky could be seen a distant nebula, and in the foreground a blue and yellow gas giant filled nearly a fifth of the night sky, illuminating the plains beyond and the crystalline spires of the new Kayan Colony in Honoan with an eiree colored light. An animal not unlike a wolf could be heard howling somewhere in the distance. Within the week the scientists would be studying the atmosphere of the gas giant, trying to learn valuable information about its atmosphere and chemical composition.

Meanwhile, in the residential sector, new residents were moving into the newly completed colony. Young, eager Kayans looking to make a new home in a new and untamed environment had flocked here, some to start families, some to enjoy the beauty of the night sky, and some to explore the plains, lakes, and forests of this mostly uncharted moon, previously called P-314, but newly named "Kalai".

***Message to the Horosk ***
Point of origin: Office of the Prime Minister, New Kayia, Galactica

I have discussed the matter extensively with my military advisers, and we have come to the conclusion that we will be willing to trade Tachyoic Shield technology to you in return for a suitable technology in return. We are quite interested in your Energy Armor, which seems like it could be a solution to the low armor values required by Tachyonic Shielding. No doubt it too would be limited by their interference with tachyonic shields, but we believe that Energy Armor would allow for a much stronger armor value than solid armor alone. Perhaps we might consider trading Tachyonic Shielding for Energy Armor, and agree to give each other access to any upgrades to either system that is made, since the two technologies are quite complimentary. Please consider this offer and tell us what you think.

Now that the border has been firmed up even more, this system is now safer to colonise. It will be turned into a shipyard complex, able to build ships quickly, and refit units fast. The fact the system only has 1 habitable moon has influeced this decision, especially as the desolate planets are rich in various elements. The fact that the planets ecosystems will not have to be preserved will allow far better efficiency. ETA:5 posts

"We thank you for that." Kai'asi told the Horosk ambassador. "With these technologies, we can produce greater warships, and finally crush the Akrahd." A thin smile crossed Kai'asi's face, remembering a day some years ago...

The Heavy Cruiser jumped into the empty system, followed by it's escort of fighters. The void was briefly disturbed by the flares of hyperspace exit points, and a mass of Akrahd ships entered.
The Lavrii captain frowned. "Akrahd," he said, "This was no part of the bargain. One of our cruisers, and one of yours. Not a warfleet."
"We lied." the Akrahd commander replied, grinning evilly. "Prepare to die."
He can certainly do a good job on the old cliche, the younger Kai'asi thought. "Very well, Akrahd scum. The lights of your burning worlds will serve as a beacon for Lavrii glory."
Hitting the self destruct, Kai'asi hurried to the escape pod. As the small pod shot out and into hyperspace, the Heavy Cruiser lurched forward, generators set to overload. A wave of blue-red polaron energy engulfed the Akrahd warfleet as Kai'asi exited the system.

Kai'asi shook his head. That was five years ago now, when the previous Supreme Arbiter had hoped for peace. Never trust an Akrahd , Kai'asi recalled. That phrase had served him well in the five years he'd been Supreme Arbiter.

Responding to the message the Azdgari had sent, the Strand League's main attacking fleet, known as the A.W. (Arkadi Wasteland) force, comprised of the ZSN armada The Red Blade and the IGNA armada Hand of Iga - the two most famous armadas within the Strand League - to move into a responsive position. Positioned within the Arkadi Wasteland, based at the Citadel in Arkadi, these two armadas were the most experienced of any similarly sized military battlegroup anywhere within the Large Megellanic Cloud.

With Teraoph said to be dead, Dacona on business on "security" measures, Lariat dealing with the security of Gateway during the festival (the Council of Four making their first appearance on Gateway, followed by Titan), and Idune busy on other matters, this force was not to be led by anyone so prestigious as a division high officer. However, the leader of the Hand of Iga , Jevaldë, and the leader of The Red Blade , Eluyiel, were easily equals to the greats of the Strand League's military "commanders of four" as they were dubbed (three, now, unfortunately.)

The Strand League's response to the upcoming actions was going to be marked down as a very special one.

NSI-4266
The docking of Tetra-Alpha actually went off surprisingly well. Tassar's pair of Falcons quickly made it to the control room, and closed the second blast doors. Once that was done, they began to pressurise the chamber.

"Not bad," Dacona said somewhat neutrally.

"You haven't seen anything yet," Tassar replied with a grin. "Let's go."

Seventy or so Strand League marines poured out of the various ships, even as the occupants of the station replied to their pressurisation of the docking bay with a rather late attack by a pair of Wolverines.

The marines quickly opened fire with their miniguns and heavy combat rifles, barraging the two Wolverines with overwhelming fire before they were able to lock on a target. However, the blasts had no apparent effect - except to reveal a shimmer around the two mechanoids. Momentary confusion was all many of the marines had before the Wolverine's EM railguns opened up, shredding horrific numbers of them in seconds.

"****!" Tassar cursed, looking around him. He found Dacona not far from his right, loading a P501:504 rocket into a rocket launcher. "That won't do any good, Dacona! Those shields are powered by the core."

Dacona blinked, and cursed. "I didn't know they'd..."

"Yeah, that's really comforting. Pull back, Dacona. We can't take out those Wolverines if we fire for days."

The retreat was hopeless, however. The railguns simply exploded marines two at a time, and they were soon forced to turn and continue firing, not able to hear over the sound of the railguns Tassar's screams that it was hopeless.

There were no screams from those already targetted - they were targetted, and they were dead. The living screamed, however. Nothing seemed to phase the pair of Wolverines. Tetra-Alpha's external shields were definately down, but internally they were obviously up. Tassar and Dacona both gave up all hope, and turned to fire futilely at the mechanoids.

Then, there was a streak of light from behind the Strand League forces, which immersed one Wolverine and hurled it into the air. Then, a large black disc, two metres in diameter, zipped across above their heads, and exploded into the Wolverine. The procedure was repeated quickly, and afterwards, there was nothing left of most of the corridor that had been in front of them.

Tassar collapsed onto his breaths, breathing hard. "Hell. Remind me never to betray the Strand League. That stuff is obsolete equipment, dammit!"

Dacona dropped his launcher and stumbled to Tassar's side, unable to walk more out of shock than any real injury. "I won't tell you that I implemented the designs, then."

Tassar started spouting harsh profanities at his comrade, only broken off when a slender Igadzran woman stepped out of the Izar that had so insanely assualted the Wolverines. He quickly turned her profanities to her. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Saving you, it seems," she replied in a tone that didn't seem in the least respectful of rank. Dacona eyed her carefully, and realising that he didn't bring such a person, began to have his suspicions as to her identity.

"Launching discs within a station?" Tassar asked spitefully.

"It worked, didn't it?"

Tassar turned around slowly. He tried to ignore, for now, all the dead marines about him and the wrenching feeling in his stomach. He made the 180ş turn only barely without spilling the contents of his stomach, to look at the effects of launching a disc in a station. A considerably portion of Tetra-Alpha was blown apart, and there was no apparent way to move any further. "Thanks," Tassar replied sarcastically. "That's very helpful."

*Updates
A lot of things have been done recently, and none of them have been sufficiently explained.

1. Ne Demord Jamais, take your Strand League ship figures and multiply all the shield figures by 2.5 to start with (it was like that from the beginning.)

2. Upgrades to ZSN ships:

Zirada
Despite the peace between the Azdgari and the Zidagar, the rivalry for the most effective fighter continued. The ZSN poured their effort into trying to make the Zirada as powerful as it could be, and their most recent upgrade shows their effort. Ziradas are extraordinarily well shielded for a fighter, and their firepower is considerable. In recent tests, the Zirada beat the Izar nine out of ten times, despite the size difference.

Designation: Heavy Fighter

Weapons: 2 F.Q. Duelbeams
1 Kyhdron Beamer
1 TT Rocket Launcher - 8 AF Rockets

Shields: 200 (4-layered Turbophase)
Armor: 25 (Tritanium Hull)

Zidara
The Zidara has not been in need of a replacement since the very dawn of the Zidagar. They are a work of art, and have shown no signs of waning. These pocket warships are surprisingly fast, and after deploying their pair of Ziradas, they usually fly along with them, using the combined firepower of four Kyhdron phase beams to tear apart their target quickly. The Zidara is not intended to be in battle for a large time, and it’s shielding reflects this. However, they tend to dispatch their targets at blinding speeds.

Designation: Destroyer Escort

Weapons: 3 Duelbeam Turreted Systems
2 Kyhdron Beamers
1 Fighter Bay - 2 Ziradas
2 Rocket Launchers - 25 Redfire Dispersal Rockets

Shields: 1100 (15-layered Tachyonic)
Armor: 15 (Tritanium Hull)

Zira
The Zira escort cruiser is a newly developed vessel. They are the best defended of all ZSN vessels, and can take serious damage before being destroyed. They are heavily armed, although can not stand up to the Izagra in one to one combat. It is with their complement of Zirada fighters that the Zira shines as a powerful vessel; the Zira is able to support up to five Ziradas, a force powerful enough to destroy many light warships in itself.

Designation: Escort Cruiser

Weapons: 6 Duelbeam Turreted Systems
3 Kyhdron Turreted Beamers
2 Fighter Bays - 5 Ziradas
3 Rocket Launchers - 40 Redfire Dispersal Rockets

Shields: 4000 (45-layered Tachyonic)
Armor: 15 (Reinforced Tritanium Hull)

3. The Izirion:

Izirion
Izirions were designed to complement the Strand League’s favoured tactic against the Akrahd; light raiding, never commiting too much ships to the battlefield. Izirions evolved from the Zirada, although they are actually lighter vessels. Typical Zidagar fighter engineering is shown in their construction, coupled with the Igadzra desire of mass production; the Izirion is universally easy to produce. They are fast fighters, with near instant acceleration from thoron engines, and mock their enemies with their manouevrability. They are also very well armed for short periods of time, with three kyhdron beamers built into the vessel, and an easily interchangeable secondary weapon. Wings of Izirions are extremely difficult to damage, especially within the opening of a battle, and they can thus deal damage quickly and disappear before they come under much threat.

Designation: Raider

Weapons: 3 Kyhdron Beamers
1 TT Rocket Launcher - 6 AF Rockets / 1 Particle Railgun

Shields: 100 (4-layered Turbophase)
Armour: 50 (Tritanium Hull)

4. The Anti-fighter Rocket:

Anti-fighter Rocket
It was the fanatic attempts at developing a fighter that surpassed all other fighters that created the anti-fighter rocket, described as the perfect fighter-to-fighter weapon. Anti-fighter rockets do not harm their parent ship, but their blast radius is sufficient to hit between four and eight targets simultaneously, scattering them in the process. As well as their blast radius, AF rockets are fast and deal a very heavy punch, even to a single target.

Shield Damage: 375

Armour Damage: 250

Korellian 4
Of course, "The Red Blade" and "Hand of Iga" weren't heading to reinforce Harnath, as may have seemed apparent. Lariat had instead sent them on a special mission to attack Korellian 4 and make a strike into the Teh'Rak, hopefully penetrating deep into their core worlds and crippling them. It would be one of the Strand League's proudest moments.

The two armadas entered Korellian, defendedby approximately thirty thousand Teh'Rak ships (OOC: I worked out your average, which is quite a bit less than this. I hope this is a close approximation of your border defence, if not, we'll see to it) , once again with all carried Ziradas deployed. Only in cases of very extreme munitional fire did ZSN tend to hold back their fighters for specific moments in battle, rather than risk losing them in the opening of battle.

As they were attacking a well defended position, the IGNA:ZSN co-ordination was somewhat different from the usual supported reef. IGNA were perfect for eliminating stationery defences such as stardocks or, theoretically, Kayan defence drones, due to their armanent of particle railguns. IGNA quickly formed a reef with the ZSN, Ziradas laid out at the head to mop up the bulk of munitional fire. As Ziras and Zidaras now had point defence capable weaponry, they were also near the front line.

The initial target of the IGNA stand-off armada, the Hand of Iga , was the Teh'Rak's station (Star-Dock) in the system. Thousands of railguns targetted it and overwhelmed it with firepower from out of its range, while the entire reef moved backwards, meaning that all missiles fired by the enemy had to travel further, thus having a lower chance of reaching their target.

Railguns also took heavier Teh'Rak targets with Scarab discs rather than aiming for fighters, as the anti-fighter rockets now outfitted on ZSN vessels needed a trial. In this battle, ZSN served as IGNA's back-up, using duelbeam weaponry to stop missiles and anti-fighter rockets to pull down as many as eight fighters at a time in a lucky situation, while IGNA made use of railguns and discs from an extremely long range. The entire force was moving backwards (while facing forwards, inertia), and would very soon be out of range of the Teh'Rak missiles and railguns, while particle railguns and Scarab discs were within easy range.

OOC: considerable damage to your fleet and damaged or disabled star-dock on your hands, NDJ {before you state the TEP on your star-dock, just check to see if it can negate 50,000 damage - 5 seconds fire from 1000 railguns, a tiny amount in my railling powers of over 100,000 railguns. And no, that's not Res-Edit scale)

(This message has been edited by SilverDragon (edited 06-22-2002).)

"The situation is heating up," Kyala said to a pair of militiary corps officers in his office. "Do we have our patrols in place?"

"Yes," one of the officers said. "We still have 45,000 ships defending in both Sheagi and Ver'Hath, and we have sent an additional 50,000 ships to patrol systems along the southeast and east Azdgari borders."

"Keep me informed," Kyala said.

"On another note, our engineers report they've finished the designs for the tachyonic shield subassemblies for the Zira. Would you care to do the honors?"

"It'll be my pleasure," Kyala said, grabbing a comm pad.

Message to the Strand League , Council of Four, Silverbridge
Point of Origin: Office of the Prime Minister, New Kayia, Galactica

We have finished the tachyonic shield designs for the Zira, and the specifications are included in this message. We have found that your re-design for the hull will be sufficiently light to allow tachyonic shields to work without interference. We are ready to outfit ships with the new design and conduct field tests. We hope you will find these new shields useful for our mutual defense.

After completing his message, Kyala strolled down to the engineering corps wing of the capitol building. "We still have those shield ram designs that we acquired from the Azdgari, right?" Kyala asked.

"Yes, they are stored deep within the Area 6 mainframe," an engineer responded.

"Well, I want you to take them out of secure storage and retrofit them on one of our fireflies. If the prototype works well, we may be able to outfit them on the rest of our fireflies, and our other ships as well. How long do you think that would take?"

"Just one firefly? Probably about three weeks. It will take longer if we wish to outfit the rest of the ships, however."
