I ran out of fuel... (no this isnt simple)

Ive been playing for a good 2 or 3 years, so i know my way around the game quite well, so you cant tell me to just shoot down some ship, or to ask for assistance.

Im in the Miranu/Igadzra mission where you have to test out the NPD (nebula penetration device) and due to the fact that i have a tendancy to stay up untill 3 A.M. playing, i ended up jumping into one of the nebula systems (that NOBODY else can get into) with only one jump of fuel left, and no fuel scoops.

Is there a plug, or a way i can edit my pilot file to get that one jump of fuel?

-D.S.

You could make your own plug, if you've been playing for 2-3 years you should have an idea how to do it. Alternatively, there's a utility that allows you to edit pilot files that I've seen on the addons page, so you could check that out.

Im not much on making plugs and such, the concept of trying to alter the game myself frightens me for some reason...

But thanks for the pointer.

The game only saves when you land on a planet. If you haven't yet, you could always just quit the game without saving. You will revert to the last save point (the last time and place you landed), of course.

That being part of the problem, it was part of my mission to land on the planet and collect soil samples, so im screwed!

Ack, I always take a few weak escorts in that situation, so if I'm short of fuel I can free one of my escorts and then pillage it.

Making a plug to introduce ships to an uninhabited area sounds like hard work. Why not investigate ACE first? I think it allows fuel level to be tweaked.

I think.

Personally, I seldom go anywhere without at least one fuel scoop, and I never go anywhere without an escape pod. This problem is, therefore, new to me.

I used ACE you can get it at (url="http://"http://www.crosswinds.net/")http://www.crosswinds.net/(/url)

Same thing happened to me before, but I had lots of time so I did a new pilot file.

The worst thing is being stuck in a pirate system without enough cash to refuel, and only 1 blaze cannon to pillage an enemy ship with for fuel (took me hours).

Crosswinds is a web hosting provider. You evidently found it on a Crosswinds member page, but linking to their homepage is not very helpful. 🙂

Use the Pilot File Editor:

One of the best EVO utilities out there.

Actually, I used to do it for free for people when they got trapped, right when I was starting as a developer.. It seemed so cool back then... 🙂

Another idea is to just land and take off until a pers comes along that you can steal fuel off.
