heh. i had this problem too at one point. you can continue if you go to Freeport. from there it is easy. (and i dont know if it was her ship but it is possible, allthough it would not interfear with the UE string)

The Anna Balashova missions, as well as the 'free Huron', 'destroy Voinian Dreadnought', and 'Paaren Station' are not actually part of the UE string.

True, the only UE strings is just in aiding the Emalgha and later the Hinwar in making the Voinian Empire crumble, but that's about it. UE missions like AB, Huron, and Dreadnaught are just kind of like side missions but they can contribute to the Voinian's demise.
When developers try to make expansion missions continuing from where the objective left off such as ROTUE, they lay down the requirements for the players to have already finished some or all of the UE side missions, if they were part of the main string, it wouldn't have been a problem in the first place.

Oh yeah, I forgot, the Needle Jammer mission is also a UE side mission, but it has lil' effect in the Voinian's demise because it focus more against the renegades, so you don't have to complete it unless you want a needle jammer.

Soul_McFunk_1024: The Krait was not her. Check out F-909 in DSN-8584.
You may want to make sure that your going to the Freeport system and not the Riomir system. I took me about 3 days before I figured out that I was landing at Gorky instead of Freeport Station as stupid as it sounds.

I find the Gremlin will not work that good as it is do to the black background and miss spelling it is not a good idea ether.
To make the AB mission string clear once and for all. You start at New Taranto, then you go to Freeport station in the Riomore system, from there, head to Iothe Prime in the Iothe system, then check out the F-909 planet in the DSN-8584 system which lies between the Riomore and the Iothe system. Taking off from that planet, you head to Freeport, and then you head to Iothe system where you disable a turcoat called the Nadir, after you rescue her, you land on Knox in the Mestor system. And that end's the AB mission strings.
For a quick reference on where you have to go:
New Taranto - Freeport
Freeport - Iothe Prime
Iothe Prime - F-909
F-909 - Freeport
Freeport - Iothe system(you don't land on the planet, it's here you disable the Nadir)
Iothe system - Knox
