Use Shovel?

I bought a shovel from the salesman. Does it have some purpose in the game?

Rangers can use them once they learn the earth mole spell.

I think the other classes can just dig holes

The shovel is pretty useless to a non-ranger. It can be used as a weapon but you can get much better ones. A quick note if you are a Ranger: buy several when you get the chance because they can break.
