Okay, I posted a couple questions to the ROTUE thread started just a few days ago, but apparently no one is checking that one anymore. Anyway, here are the problems I have been having which I hope someone can help me with. (Yes, I do know that you aren't supposed to end with a preposition, but nobody speaks that way anymore.) Anyway the problems are:
Aside from the various spelling errors, I have enjoyed this plugin, and would like to be able to complete it. If anyone has any suggestions or know where I could perhaps get some help, please post back, I will be reading this column again soon.
Thanks, Klinux

I fly into the system where I am supposed to kill the Invincinought. The UE fleet joins me there and we usually kill the Invincinought quite easily. ( I think perhaps a little too easily, which might be part of the bug.) However, as soon as that the happens, I get the attack alarm siren, and if I hit the nearest target key, I see that the Invincinought is back, except that it's listed as disabled in my target screen. But I can't actually see the ship itself. Instead what I see is the selection box that appears around any ship when you select it. The selection box is always to the left of my screen, just barely visible, but out of range of my weapons. And it stays with me whereever I go within that system. It always stays to my left, but it always stays on a set track. Such that if I were to fly to the right, but go down, the Invincinought stays at the same vertical track with me but continues on whatever horizontal track it was at. It does appear in my radar screen, but none of the other UE ships seem to be able to see it. Instead they all fly off to the left of the system and just keep going. They don't jump out of the system they just keep flying out to the left past where I'm able to fly. And if I check my map, I see that the mission flag has changed from that system back to the Outpost where it was originally given to me, as if it were complete. Yet, if I return to that system, it is not complete. Wierd. I hope my explanation of the problem is sensical. I have tried to be thorough in my description. Any help would be appreciated. Klinux

I had that exact problem when I played ROTUE. I couldn't be bothered to actually fix the problem (probably in a ship or spin resource) so I just went into ResEdit and changed the ShipGoal field for that mission from 0 to 4, hence meaning you didnt have to destroy the ship anymore. I then continued past that mission without difficulty.

Otherwise try sending a mail to UE Patriot. His adress is probably in the readme
Thanks for the responses. At least now I know that someone else has had this problem. I'll email UE Patriot and let him know about this problem. Perhaps he can figure out a solution. If not I'll try the ResEdit hack. Although, I generally like to play a game through once or twice before I use any cheats or edits.
Thanks again, Klinux

It's not a cheat if the game doesn't actually work without it
