I love reviving old discussion strings for no good reason.
Why does everyone say "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year" instead of "Happy Christmas" and "Merry New Year?"
Why do we wish each other's butts Happy Holidays? Seriously, everyone says "Happy Holidays to you and yours" or "Wishing you and yours a Season's Greetings." When someone says "up yours" we understand what part of our anatomy they refer to, so "Merry Christmas to you and yours" must be a season's greetings to me and my butt.
Well, that was certainly pointless, and, since pointless topics get locked...
