I just recently got EVO and was wondering about the claim 5 times bigger. After flying about two planets in either direction I get to dead spots where there is no planets. Where is this Huge galaxy? I also just relized that it is a prequel heh. And the weapons are all poo. With my shuttle I killed a krait fighter. wtf? they are so dam weak. One thing that I do think is great about the game is things moving forward in time not just having an infinite war. That is really cool.

There is a great deal more space to the north. If you go far enough, you'll find several more civilisations. And no, EV Override is not a prequel. It is a completely separate game from Escape Velocity that happens to be based on the same engine. It is set a century earlier, but it is no more a prequel than Star Wars (set a long time ago) is a prequel to Star Trek (set in the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th centuries).
As for the Krait, it certainly is a weak and ineffective ship.

Trust me, just keep playing and you will find all you ever want and more. If you really want to make contact I advise buying a scoutship and outfitting it with some fuel tanks. And don't worry about the weapons, well actually do worry about them if you're in alien space in a human ship. Get some money, buy some weapons and come back to UE space. You can kick some serious renegade tail. Oh, and when I say some money, I mean a lot. The standard turret on board an alien ship costs twice as much as a UE Freighter.

I take it you're playing for UE?
If so, you found Voinians and Voinian space, explore it. If you haven't rescued the defector from Pax, I highly recommend playing for Voinians. The Game is just easier when you have a Voinian Cruiser in the Crescent.
You'll know what the crescent is soon enough.

hhmm well I am playing for the UE but not really intentionally. I attacked one ship and Im a fellon on all their planets now. And about the Renegades. Do they always attack? How many other civilizatins are there? I did a diplomatic mission for the Miran and now Im a member of their trade organization. I also saw this ship that was called the igzagra or something and it was long and orange and yellow, I hailed it and it didnt respond. And whats up with all these alien ships and weapons? They are lots more powerfull than the human weapons and cost dam more too. Also do races get mad at you faster in this one? Because I need a ship to haul stuff so if I attack a Miran freighter what will my legal status be?

I highly recommend you not attack any miranu ships, because they are easy to get mad. kill a Freightor, and the fighters that attack you, and soon you're Criminal in Mirava. Go to the north of Miranu space, you'll find the Zacha (a government of merc. that hunt renegades.). Go East from Miranu space, you'll end up curving down, you'll run into the Zidigar(Good, moderately cheap, maneuverable warships), Igadzra The elongated yellowish ship is one of the most powerful ships in the galaxy. That is, unless you're Zidigar or Adzgari. ), and Adzgari (FAST fighters with insane shield regen, nothing else.)(the three strands.. they're in constant batle with each other, i reccomend fighting for the Zidigar. Adzgari and Igadzra strings are quite difficult). To the Extreme north of the map are the Renegades, to the extreme south are the Renegades (Northern ones are nastier, but they have the same technology. I reccomend you avoid them ). To the west of UE are the Voinians (can be nasty if you're in a slow-ish ship). Slightly west-north-west of Voinian space are the emalgha (a govt of voinian slaves that rebelled. only have two systems.)
After a while, if you fight for the UE, you'll run into the Hinwar, another Voinian-slave race, that rebels against the voinian might with Emalgha and UE help.
All along the crescent you'll find strandless planets, just Igadzra, Zidigar, or Adzgari planets that seceded, i guess.
Oh, and learn the names (esp. the strands.. Adzgari, Zidigar, and Igadzra), and we'll all love you for it.

What is a good ship to buy that can hold a fighter bay? and Why fight for the race that u said the adarzari have those kick ass fighters but they seem to be mean.

Um can you trust me on this? Dont get a fighter bay. They just aren't what they're all cracked up to be. If you want a really good 1. M ship, get an Arada at a miranu planet. Trust me, everyone on this board agrees that the Arada is the best ship for 1.M. Outfit it properly, and it can take out anything. Of course, first things first, after you buy it, sell the rear quadront turrets, and either buy more forward ones, or dispy rockets. The adzgari aren't MEAN, you're able to buy an azdara after only one or two missions with them, but their string is HARD, and the fighter is kinda hard to pilot. I really would reccoment the Zidigar, they have a decent beam weapon (even if it dpoes suck fuel), and it;'s string is the easiest (in my opinion). The Zidigar high-end warship, while not too strong, is only 3M if I remember right, and it's almost on the level with the Igadzra, a 9 M ship.
Oh, and if you haven't rescued the voinian defector from pax, play for the Voinians. Land on Pax Station, and accept the mission. a Voinian Frigate with Zidigar Phased beams is pretty cool....
Couple more corrections: The Zidara is about $5M, and the Igazra is $14M.
I am allready playing for UE. I am on some mission where I am rebuilding a station and giving it supplies but I cant find the last planet that gives me a mission to deliver it. I dont really care how good fighter bays are because I think they are really cool. And it would have to be a crescent fighter bay. And what is the deal with the council station? and these forbidden stations? It said some weird thing about insanity and the crescent on one of the stations that I had to pay to get on. And whats with the such high mercy payments in this. IN EV its always like 5 thou and below. Some of the bigger shipes start at 20 thou to lay off!

Uh, don't you mean Zid a gar, Redchigh?
You're going to miss the Argosy, Kermit. You're also going to look back fondly on the days when passengers didn't weigh like cargo, when cheap ships like the Corvette could mount loads of guns... but there's really no turning back. Until EV Nova, EV:O is the best we've got.
Oh, and the scoutship sucks in EV:O... though some people seem to disagree.

Yeah the Miranu are like that they get really pissed off if you reject missions. Btw guys Im a veteran player Ive completed most core missions (I dont really play the game anymore) but how do I get the Zidagar mission string? Ive tried everything including searching for the string in res-edit. Is there a Zidigar string?
