EVO Multiplayer?

Is there any Escape Velocity: Override for multiplayer out there, for TCP/IP or something similiar? If there isn't, is there one that may be developed, either through Ambrosia or a third-party group? EVO is an excellent game, and I feel that it would be a lot more fun with more than one player-controlled ship flying around, not to mention the missions you could have!

I think a lot of people would agree that a multiplayer EV would be cool, but the fact is that it wouldn't be EV anymore. I'd write my schpiel here, but pipeline (an EVN developer) wrote a much better one (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum26&topic;=002664")here(/url) than I could ever write. I think it should be left open, so the less tolerant (read: needlessly angry) board members can learn to excersize restraint, or get karma slapped.
