I was supposed to meet the prof on Dorone or whatever the planet is named. He said i had a month so I ran a few errands and lost track of time. Now nothing happens when I land there and go to the bar... Do I have to go back?

Check your mission summary w/the "I" key. If there's a dot by it, it means that you ran out of time and have to abort and start the mission over. Otherwise you're fine, you can still go and complete the mission.

Also when it says in the mission briefing about meeting in a months time, you don't actually have to wait a month. You can just go straight to your destination
