Really, there is no "best" strand. Choose the one that helps your playing style.
That's the point, Monkie. This is a thread to express opinion. Personally, I go with the Igadzra most of the time, because I really enjoy the Igazra ship.

I like maneuverability and a bit of strength and firepower, so I'd have to say the Azdgari for me. When I did the Zidagar mission string, I never got that extra space. The beam does drain your fuel too fast though. And with the Igadzra, the plasma syphon never seemed to do enough damage quick enough for me. Also I'm not much of a fan of the Mighty Yellow Penis (more commonly known as the Igazra :D). I like secondary weapons that don't need ammo, but there isn't really one good enough for me in EVO. Still, I'm having lots of fun with my new Azdara, although what I really want is an Azdgari Warship.

Azdgari-They give you the exp. shield gen. and offer the regular shield gen., they also have super fast ships with reasonable firepower. They're my favorite, 'cos their mission strings are so challenging and they have awesome stuff.
Zidagar-20 extra ton upgrade(which I used up quickly), and they have the phased beam. I don't like them too much, cos of their items, but they really cool mission strings (the main reason I like them). They're ok.
Igadzra-Give you the plasma siphon, and offer the best ship in the game (as most people say). I hate their missions though, and they don't have the greatest weapons either (as I don't like using secondaries). They'd be tight if the Igazra would have the same weapons range when you buy'em.
I like speedy ships with good shields and shield generators, with good firepower. That's why I like the azdgari arada with neutron turrets and front photon swivel cannons. I have beaten dozens of renegades at once w/o secondaries with that ship I just mentioned (oh yeah, it also had a speed and thrust upgrade)

Azdgari are the best. Get a crescent fighter right before the mission where you get the exp. shields. Then go to a voinian system (after UE missions) and get armor. You are now nearly invincible. I've had several iggies firing on me at once and survived.
On the other hand i have an iggie pilot who captured 3 other iggies and 3 azdgari warships. Game got pointless real fast....

'thass 'cotal 'trap. The Zidagar are the best Strand. Zidaras absolutely rock, and Zidagar fighters pretty much always beat Azdaras (yes, yes, I tested it).

The Azdgari, in my opion, are the best, becasue they provide upgrades that prove extremely useful in combat. The other strands provide upgrades that are udeful, but not as useful in combat as the Azdgari upgrades.

I've always been partial to the Zidagar, possibly 'cos they were the first strand I ever did. Which would you say is best for thr Crew of One? I've gone for the Zidagar 'cos of the extra 20 tons, but what do you think?

We had a poll a few months ago, on the subject of "which strand's mission set ought to be expanded?"
The majority of people said that the Zidagar strand's string ought to be expanded... not because that was their favourite strand, but because it was the strand they tended not to work with.
The zidagar systems modification that frees up space within your ship is all very well... but sooner or later you'll want to experiment with a different ship, and there goes your 'bonus' from working with the Ziddies. Now, if there was a "keep Ziddie mods plug", I'd be a little more interested in their government...
