I've run into a few snags with frozen heart. One is I can't end the mission "Take evidence to Earth" from New Venus to Earth. I get to Earth, I get the message, but I still have the mission, and therefore can't get the next one in the sequence. Another mission freezes the computer once I accept it. It's one of the hyper-mail ones. I've got version 1.0.4, so if there's an update that will fix this let me know. A link would be handy too.

I have had the hypermail bug it shags you up good and propper. there are no new updates as far as im aware. When i couldn'y finish frozen heart beacuse of the bug I just started Femme Fatle instead
Cheers, GAZZA
------------------ Why bother? Well why?? Why???
When I came across this problem, I had to dump all of the quicktime movies in the plug-ins folder and then turn off Quicktime in the preferences screen. If that doesn't work, goto Get Info and turn up the memory allocation (don't forget to leave enuf ram for the OS).
------------------ I have to think of a new sig, suggestions are welcome. For now, I'll just go with "Down with the Evil Empire, bin Laden, and the Minnesota Vikings!!!"
Mm. Why do people never read the read me file??
If you did, you would find explicit instructions for dealing with the Quicktime bug (which is an EVO bug).
Leave the New Venus mission open. It will resolve in time. Whatever you do, don't abort.

Martin

Martin is kinda correct in that people should read the file coming with Frozen Heart; then again he did write the plug. It helped alot when I was stuck with both take evidence to earth and the hypermail bug. Of course I didn't read up on the former part until after I had aborted the mission about four times. Take the time and read the doc, that or spend hours screaming at your monitor screen. It's your choice after all, not mine.

I read the read me file. It freezes AFTER the movie, and after I get the second mission info screen. I also increased the memory to about twice the preferred size, and I have enough ram left over to run another copy of EVO. It didn't seem to like me plotting out a map course while in port when I got the mission to board the alien wreckage either. Perhaps you should, oh I dunno, fix these bugs? And maybe come out with a new version? You'll probably get a lot more positive support that way. Otherwise, good plug-in
Off the Subject, but in frozen heart were you ever able to side with a major govt like rigel?

You are incorrect. It will freeze after the movie, but it's the same issue, and it is still solved in exactly the same way.
If you are having trouble plotting a course, this is an EVO bug not a Frozen Heart bug. There are a couple of other randomly occurring EVO bugs which may trouble you at some point.
If you're unhappy with having the author of a plugin support you with advice and help the same day, then I suggest you switch to Microsoft products. Their users do not have to put up with this kind of frustration.

No, Frozen Heart just has the one major plotline. There's no Magellan or Rigellian missions.

This is off topic but in the Reign of the Voinians plug-in it tells me to find that Anna girl who made the UE cruisers so we can find out their weak points, where is she? Also why won't the board except my yahoo or hotmail e-mail address?!?! Which ones does it except?!?! That mission in frozen heart sure is hard! Just to be on topic

Are you mad? Microsoft spits on ground products? I guess you're right in one respect, it's a whole new level of frustration they have to put up with.
hey martin, when i tried to go to ur tripod site, the thingy said it couldn't find your page. Dag! Whats up with that? :frown:
------------------ "The only reason for time is to stop everything from happening at once!"
About a year ago Tripod pulled the site because they claimed I was distributing pirate software.
I went through about six loops of automated emails trying to explain that I was the author of the plugin and owned the copyright. However, Tripod really has no interest in customer service for their free pages, and they replied several times with 'if we pulled it, we must have been right and you are therefore lying'.
Moral of the story: you get what you pay for.
all right i know you said I would kick my self when I realized how to get on to the ports that don't seem to be there but I've tried every thing and I still can not get to those ports can any one help me.
Use the number keys above the keypad (not the Fkeys or the numeric pad). They will allow you to access ports 1-4 in a system.
This is actually in the EVO documentation, but most people never seemed to notice it.
Ok you are right I am kicking myself. I should have thought of that but thank you any way.
By the way I failed a misson time limit but it didn't delete itself. There is a dot next to it. If I've failed then whey isn't it gone. Should I abort it do I compleat it any way or what. I need help.
Abort it and go back to the system you got it in if it's a thread mission. It should reappear.

I dont think I ever actually completed The Frozen Heart, I have already read the novel but the reason I didn't finish it is because I couldn't get past the bit(I think it has something to do with sandstorm) where I disable the ship, I did that and then flew to Teken alpha or whatever then kind of gave up.
