Hmm...that's a toughie. I guess I'll say the UE, since I'm not sure of your question.
I think UE have better ships, Voinians are stronger, and UE are in the "right".
There ships are faster, well armed, they have seeking missiles where the Voinians don't, and they are mostly cheaper.

I vote for the UE because I like doing missions for my own species. In addition the mission strings are longer and open up a lot more. Plus with what other goverment can you get the UE Dreadnaught ( with a plugin of course).

Voinian!!!! I have a question for the Reign of the Voinian missions, I have located where that Anna girl who made the UE Cruiser is and it tells me to find the ship the "Iron Fist", do you guys know which system it is in?
I like the UE because of the UE cruiser and because I find it hard to turn against my own species.

I must say, I vote for the UE. UE has more area and I appreciate it more because they aren't hostile right out as the Voinians are, and if you were spit out from the UE Naval Academy, would you like the Voinians? Besides, Zachit is way better.

Just where do the Zachit come into play?
Both sides have their ups and downs. While the UE ships are faster, have seeking missiles, and are in the 'right', the Voinians have the extremes of defensive and offensive power, and with speed upgrades have decent speed. And Merc, Zacha ships simply don't stand up a bronev-fitted Cruiser with some speed upgrades, an extra neutron turret, ECM, and a Repulsor beam. 'Matter o' fact, just about nothing does.

I've got to say the Voinians. Imperialistic they may be, their seemingly patriotic spirit is what I like. I used to be a huge supporter of the United Earth, but they sound as if they are on their way to a communist-like government, greedy for all the power they can get. The Voinians have every reason to fight the United Earth, and vice versa.

What makes you say that? Frontier Express and Stellar Corps are prospering in UE space. I see no indication of a creeping communism, unless you count the "universal Earth currency" thing. As for being greedy for power, how do you explain the fact that they let Huron go. (Well, you could say that it was because they could not handle the Renegade problem, but do you not think that if the UE was truly power-hungry, they would fanatically hld on to Huron, no matter what?)
What reason do the Voinian have for fighting the UE? Any? What did the UE do to provoke them?
As you know, I am pro-UE.

Probably scream and start trying to fire all the weapons our ships don't have, because we would not yet have much of a reason to arm ships against aliens if we don't know they exist. Seriously, I enjoy the UE. Longer string, better stuff, and so on. ROTV was certainly fun, though.

The UE are certainly better, and the UE Cruiser is the best ship in the game, but Pheeew! who designed their ships? The UE ship designers should hire some Voinian designers to teach 'em how to make a baaad looking ship.

I can't really see any evidence of Captain Skyblade's communism. My only problem with United Earth is that the military seems to be strangely powerful. For instance, Huron's independence, which has already come up in this thread, was granted not by any elected body, but by a single admiral who didn't even appear to have to go through any special processes to accomplish it.

I think we can be pretty sure that the Voinians attacked United Earth. While the question you ask makes sense, the experiences of the Emalgha, the Hinwar, and others bear out the conventional human historical interpretation.

Not sure. Depends. The Voinians have a lot of power, they just don't use it. Heck, just launch the defense fleet for Voinian and obliterate the whole UE Navy!
Of course, in Golden Horizon (my webstory) the Voinians just invaded the UE and pretty much obliterated them easily. Then again, in another webstory (I forget which one) the UE pretty much wiped out the Voinians. Depends on who makes a full fledged invasion first.

David, "communism" wasn't exactly what I had in mind... In fact, I'd have nothing to do with a communistic government. It's a game, isn't it? In real life, I'd probably side with the United Earth, though I'd resign immediately following the war and let the UE grow corrupt without me.
