The U.E.S. Incontrovertible

Just thinking about this ship...

As anyone who has read the EVo Readme and documentation, etc., knows the U.E.S. Incontrovertible was the first flagship of the United Earth Navy. Sometime during the Voinian War, the Incontrovertible disappeared while fighting a half-dozen Voinian warships to protect a UE supply convoy. Since then, many space captain have spotted it out in the far corners of the universe (i.e. outside UE space), always coming in at the last minute to save the captian from the Renegade and/or Voinian threat. In the "Unofficial Flight Manual" (or whatever it's called.) the then-Captian d'Erlon says to dismiss this claims as mere fables and myths (though the sympolize "the eternal struggle of the United Earth fleet against the foes of humanity.")

Of course, anyone who plays EVO long enough that the myth is true, that the U.E.S. Incontrovertible is still around and in good shape. However, I have a few questions regarding this lost UE Destroyer.
• The Incontrovertible is an early-model UE Destroyer. If so, why are the later-model UE destroyers inferior to it?
• The Incontrovertible has a UE Fighter Bay with 5 UE fighters. hOw could they fit them in there?
• Where is that extra blaze turret found, as the current UE Destroyer only has a maximum 3 turrets.

Well, what would a Mythological ship be without major enhancements. Being the flagshipt must have its perks, an enlarged weapons space must be one of them. A Turret wouldnt be that hard to retro-fit on a flagship.

Where can I find this ship?

During my long time of playing, I've never found it.

I think it just pops in based on a random number generator kind of thing, and you might not notice it even if it is there, if you move away from the main part of a battle and it jumps out before you get back.
In any event, I saw it once on a mission against the Voinians. Lucky me (it blew away almost the entire fleet on its own ).

Seem to remember ship of that name flitting around. Tougher than most, but I still disabled it. Is it really that awesome? Or am I just confusing it with another UE Destroyer that has a similar name?

It's a ghost ship, of course it's stronger than other ships. As for how it's able to have an extra blaze turret...just look at how the Zidaras were outfitted with more guns than they could have max.

It wouldn't be a myth if it came fitted with 1 blaze turret and 150 in shields or so,stupid.. as for the chance of seeing it, its based on a random calculation just like many other characters like Matt Burch that often show up in different systems. I've encountered U.E.S. Incontrovertible mostly in Zidagar space, never in Azdgari space and almost never in renegade space...

Yeah, everyone's right -- game-wise, you've had too much Saalian Brandy and you're seeing this mythical ships, and reality-wise, it's a completely random pers thrown in there (there's a 3% chance of a pers appearing, i think, and it's just one of them).

perss helping you on missions is really helpful -- I remember when, frustrated at my inability to destroy the alien portal in EVGE, i just waited for the P.S.S. Wraith to come in and blast it...

In EVO, my favorite pers is the S.S. Suprise.

this is my guess i think it was developed before the UE cruiser but when the cruiser was developed they had to invest more money in to producing it therefore the destroyer has no need to be that powerful with its counterpart.

I've seen the UES incontriverible afew times it likes to hang around the azdgari space You fight it, you die. Unless you have a supership. From a plug or something. Maybe I should try killing it in one of my dreadnoughts...

Oh and if you ever see the disko bison in that area, dont attack it at close range, it has a turret that can fire damned far and will kill you. no, you cant beat it with one of those azdaras with High sheild generation and no, (I've done this before) you cant kill it with a scoutship. Or any other ship for that matter...

Anyone who's played a webstory can figure it out because every webstory, the leaders of a govt have a highly upgraded version of a ship they have.
who knows? Since the UES contnrevertable is old, maybe all the destroyers used to have 5 turrets and a bay, but the bay was removed when the carrier came out, and the turret slots were made smaller to simply lower the price when inflation hit?

oh, by the way, I've beaten the Contrevertable in a Crescent Warship with shield upgrades, neutron weopons, and dispy rockets....

just keep moving..... everyone knows blaze weopons dont have as good range as neutron... I just made a few passes with the rockets, and then stayed out of range to slowly drain it's shields... destroyers have slow shield regen..

Because the UE is so slow, they go backwards!

I've only seen the Incontroverible once. It didn't help me at all. :frown:

The Disco Bison/Hamburger is an Emalgha Warship with major shielding, 5 SAD launchers, 500 SAD's, and the most powerful weapon in the entire game, the Disco Machine gun, which fires at least beyond two dimensions of your screen and can scrap in Igazra before you can say "OMDFG". The U.E.S. Incontreviertible has 3 Rocket launchers, somewhere in the vicinity of 60 or more rockets, 2 Hunter Missile Launchers, 100 missiles, 2 Blaze turrets, and 5 UE Fighters, not to mention almost as much shielding as a Dreadnaught has armor. I've taken both ships down though, the Incontrevertible in a heavily modifed V. Cruiser with 2 Zidaras, an Igazra, a Crescent Warship, and an Azdgari warship backing me up, and the Disco Bison in a CW with minus the CW escort and a second Igadzra escort (those of you who remeber Moments of Pride and Accomplishment, the ancient topic started by Stud Beefpile earlier this year, will remember my recollection of these events ).
