Vengence - WTVC Part II

Azdara Ace was in his very first class at Azdara Academy, a complete overview of every miniscule detail of the Azdara. He was told by Rackzra that this class would be 1 month long, and then they would start flying Azdaras. Azdara Ace took copious notes through the whole class, and when the course finished, he had gotten a 97 total. He was 3rd in the class, and one of the Azdgari had gotten a 100 percent.

=================

It was now the first day of piloting an Azdara, and Azdara Ace felt confident that he could handle it . The controls were extremely complex, though, so he would have to be completely focused to not crash. Going up in the first wave was Rackzra and 15 other students. Azdara waved good luck to Rackzra, and mentally went through every single part of an Azdara and the functions of individual parts.
After about 3 hours, Rackzra landed and popped out of his Azdara's hatch. "Azdara Ace! It was great, I have never felt anything like it in my whole life! The trainer wouldn't let us take it up to full power, put I could feel how the ship could go so much faster! It's your turn now, good luck Azdara Ace!"
Azdara Ace got into the cockpit of his Azdara, shaking with nervousness and excitement. He looked around the cockpit, recognizing every control, every button, ever notch. His nervousness then went away as suddenly as it had come. He somehow felt that it was his purpose in life to fly these magnificent spacecraft. As this ran through his mind, the trainer came over the communicator. "Okay trainees, we're going through this step by step, and if you do something that I didn't tell you to do, you'll be kicked out of the academy immediately! Now then, slowly move your power sources up to 50%. Now pull your throttle up to 25%. Now follow me, the red Azdara. By the way, you are currently experiencing only 1/8 of an Azdara's potential speed. Just because you can easily control it at this level of speed does not mean that you will be able to control it at higher speeds. Don't get your hopes up. Every year, 250 Azdgari join the academy, and every year only about 35 of them graduate." Azdara Ace gulped at that last comment, how was he supposed to pass if he wasn't even Azdgari?

Skyblade stared nerviously as he approached the Voinian base of Otid. He didn't know what he was getting himself into, and neither did his ten Voinian crew members...

Skyblade's supply ship slowly headed for Otid, and the mission began. Otid had long since been known as reluctant to Imperial rule, and this might be just the place to start.

Shayborg was a little happier than he'd been in several weeks. However exciting defending a renegade-infested planet might have been in the short run, it did grate on the nerves after a little while -- and in this business, any loss of his piloting edge would mean death, sooner or later. Something had to be done to relieve the monotony, and shore leave just wasn't enough, especially on a backwater planet on which the vast majority of peoples picked and sold Munb leaves to the few traders, all itching to leave as soon as possible. There was simply nothing to do planetside. So, the governor of Munb (OOC: I think that's the planet name, someone correct me if I'm wrong) had instituted a program whereby the defense forces pilots were encouraged to raid renegades occasionally. Shayborg was heading towards Hizdriar for one of these raids now ...

Azdara Ace did everything exactly how the traner said to. When he was supposed to turn right he did. When he was supposed to slow down he did. By the end of the flying time, Azdara Ac felt pretty confident behind the controls of an Azdara, and wnated to make out the thrust. He still had a few months to go though...

Asriel knew that the Emalgha could not survive with only one type of ship. They needed something a little heavier. An Arada. It shouldn't prove too hard to capture one...

=============

Asriel and two other Nova (heavy crescent fighter) pilots left Emalghion in search of renegade Aradas, followed by three Emalgha Sloth-class freighters. They found two in DSN-1469. The three Novas swarmed the first Arada, disabling it easily with neutron cannons and rockets. They did the same to the second, and went back to Emalghion, letting the two Sloths tow back the Aradas...

I do get the feeling that this story has less direction than the last- maybe we need to steer the story a bit...

I know what you mean, but it's hard because Captain Skybade accelerated the story so fast. It would have been better if I had been able to finish my training at the Academy and then join Captain Skyblade's fleet on a North Tip run. With the way it is, I think that I'll have to convince a fleet of Azdgari to attack the Vonians after it is common knowledge that the Vonian Empire is on the brink of destruction. Maybe some systems could be given to the Azdgari in exchange for their help?

=====================

Azdara Ace was almost done at the academy, he only had one month to go, and then he would join the rest of his class on a race to the North Tip. So far he had flown an Azdara upto 6/8s of it's full power, but he had heard from experience pilots that te transission from 7/8s power to full power was so huge, that most pilots couldn't handle a full power Azdara. The time when Azdara Ace would first fly an Azdara at full power was next week, so close......

Azdara Ace, I might be able to help there...

As he entered hyperspace, Aben Zin's head swam. Skyblade. Who could want him dead? The stranger didn't look Voinian, or Miranu and it certainly wasn't human. He must have been from one of the Strands. Zin had avoided getting entangled in the crecent war- The petty squabbles of the strands annoyed him.
But what if one of the Strands were to ally themselves with the Voinians? Access to Voinian armour technology could prove deadly in the Strand war, and with Strand technology in the hands of the Voinians...

===
Finding The Triton Courair 2 was proving difficult. Zin began to think he'd need all of the million creds just for buying drinks and giving bribes. He had checked every bar in Miranu space- several Captains stated they had seen an alien that from their decription sounded to Zin to be Voinian pass through their system- Gathering large stockpiles of food and other vital supplies and heading North.
He had checked North Tip station, bribed many of the local captains and bought many rounds of drinks. But they all seemed strangly silent- as if someone had payed them even larger bribes to keep tight.
Finally he got a lead from a drunk trying to blag some creds outside the Bar. It had cost him 5,000 creds but the next day the Changeling entered hyperspace on a course which would eventually take him to the other side of the Voinian Empire...

Despite continued reports that the bombing of a suspected renegade building on Hizdriar was concieved and carried out by the Zachit Defense Force, the Zachit formally closed an inquiry into that, saying, "The Zachit Defense Force is not responsibile for the bombing on Hizdriar, and increased activity in the system is the only reason our presence in the area is unusually large." Today, three Zachit Aradas patrolling the area managed to destroy a renegade Crescent Warhip.

Azdara Ace and Aben Zin: I didn't have as much time to plan out this webstory, which is why it has seemed a bit rushed.

= = = = = = = = = =

Skyblade couldn't believe his luck. During his first day on Otid, conditions looked good. Every Voinian Skyblade set his eyes on seemed tired and oppressed of Imperial rule. That was were it all started.

A large bar in the city of Kray'tod was Skyblade's first target. Since Skyblade was Voinian, nobody suspected he was up to anything. An hour later, the entire bar was rouring with hate against the Emperor. After Skyblade had announced his true identity as the former Admiral of the attack on Sol, the Voinians who inhabited the bar were stunned. As time progressed, Skyblade pieced together his reasonings for turning against the Emperor. If the Voinians truly wanted to bring the human war and Imperial rule to an end, they'd pull together and make it so.

Word spread of what happened at Kray'tod. Imperial forces began to hunt down Skyblade and his men all over the Otid as he continued to spread his acts of treason. Within weeks, the entire planet was in a full scale rebellion. Wars were waging across the surface of the planet, and the space of Otid was raging with warfare between Imperial and Rebel forces. The Rebellion grew quickly and soon vastly outnumbered the Voinians who remained loyal to the Emperor. It wasn't long before Imperial forces were forced to abandon Otid. The Voinian Empire was shocked. They were already stretched enough fighting the Emalgha and United Earth, and the loss of Otid didn't assist their war efforts.

Skyblade exited the Otid system and set course for Deneba in his supply ship. Boy, would his fleet be glad to hear this... The only problem would be holding Otid. Imperial forces could still counterattack and retake the system. Perhaps it was time for Skyblade to move away from his hidden base at Deneba and re-locate on Otid. Millions of Voinians had now turned against the Emperor, and the war was on...

Don't worry Captain Skyblade, the way that you have started these stories is great, and I actually have the chance to write a science-fiction story again.. I wrote science-fiction so much in school for free writing, that my teacher sort of banned me from them. 🙂 This story is going great! Good job!

The modifications to the Rockets were finished. There were now 110 of these new missiles ready for testing. Just then an ensign came up to ESPilot. "Captain, Skyblade has returned with his stolen cargo ship." ESPilot responded "Good. Send a transmission telling him we've completed the modifications on the rockets. No doubt he'll be planning another attack of some sort soon." "Yes sir." The ensign sped off to the comm station.

Emalgha scientists had completely reverse-engineered the Arada, allowing them to create their own variants. The first thing they did was get rid of the CF Gunship, replacing it with the Arada M5 Gunship. This ship was armed with neutron and phase cannons, as well as dispersal rockets, acquired from the captured Renegade Aradas. The Arada M5 also had upgraded engines, stolen from the Vampire Crescent Light Fighter.

There were about 400 Vampires and Novas in service, and 45 Arada M5s. The next step was finding a viable guided weapon or two. The Emalgha sent a diplomat aboard a L1 to negotiate with the Zachit for use of their pursuit missile. The Zachit gave it to them in exchange for the L1 engine design. The Emalgha then put it into service aboard both the L1 and M5.

At the same time, an Arada M5 was investigating the areas south of the Crescent, hoping to find a race to trade with. The Emalgha wanted a heavy guided weapon, and SAD/SAEs were not going to suffice...

------------------
"My mind is like a steel trap: rusty and illegal in 37 states." -- forge

"Excellent work," Skyblade addressed ESPilot after receiving word of the upgraded missiles. "I've also got good news. Though we are currently limited to roughly one hundred of our new missiles, our recent success at Otid will gives us direct access to rocket manufacturing industries. If we could bring our updated rocket (or missile) design to Otid once we pack up and leave Deneba, we could mass produce them on Otid with the help of Rebel factories."

The success at Otid had been a major defeat to the Voinian Empire. The Emalgha were now more eager to fight than ever after hearing of the fall at Otid, and the United Earth was now making bold strikes along the eastern front. Skyblade was making his presence known to the Emperor. Better yet, additional planets along the southern Voinian frontier were threatening to revolt. A large rebellion was clearly underway.

Days later, Skyblade and his fleet were ready to leave Deneba and head for Otid. Now that they had a foothold in Imperial space, Otid would serve as an excellent base. A few hundred Rebel vessels escorted Skyblade's fleet to their destination, where they assisted in destroying a small Imperial counterattack fleet.

After Skyblade's headquarters had been established in Kray'tod, his engineers worked on completeing the new, upgraded neutron beam. As for the upgraded persuit missiles, they would soon be outfitted on the vessels of Skyblade's fleet, and possibily Rebel warships and fighters in the near future.

OOC: Here's where part of my character's real history is unveiled 😉
-------
As they entered the Otid system, there were a large number of gray masses battling each other; the rebels and the Empire ships. But what immediately caught his eye was a quick flash of green, and off in the distance a larger shape of a green Crescent Warship varient with an edging of sky-blue energy crystals. A wave of fear hit ESPilot like a sledghammer. Azdgari! In Voinian space??? Instinctively he yelled "Destroy the six green fighters! They're fast and have very quick shield regeneration, but our new missiles should take care of them!" This wasn't happening. If the Azdgari had made friendly contact with the Voinians, then the Voinians would have access to Azdgari shielding and engines and phase weaponry, which would rip straight through the humans' ships' shielding. He knew Skyblade's cause would be lost, and the humans wouldn't stand a chance. The four Crescent Fighters from the Basilisk seperated and swarmed an Azdara with their phase cannons, and it didn't have time to regenerate. The sped off towards another one, but four of them had set upon the Basilisk. The phase turrets tracked multiple targets, and the new missiles were firing left and right. One went down, then the next, and the Crescent Fighters arrives and finished it off.

Leaving the rest of Skyblades fleet to assist the rebels, the Basilisk approached the Azdgari Warship in the distance. A voice came over the intercom, and ESPilot recognized it immediately. "Well well, aren't you quite the captain. The Azdaras are to expected not to win against such numbers of Crescent ships, but the new projectiles you're using wasn't expected. But my ship should be more than capable of distpatching your fighters, and then your Warship." ESPilot's anger at this particular Azdgari overcame his fear. "You coward! That ship is rightfully mine as it was two years ago, before you spread your lies of me being allied with the Zidagar! All four fighters, work to disable that ship but do not destroy it!" The four phase turrets on the Azdgari Warship warmed up as the fighters sped towards it, whilst the battles was going well for the rebels under Skyblade. The Azdgari captain's reply came back, the voice only slightly tinted with surprise. "ESPilot eh? I figured you'd gone to fight Renegades in the north tip for the rest of your days! But now you've joined up with this rebel's band of amatures! With an alliance with the Voinians, the Azdgari will have access to powerful Neutron weaponry, and the dense plating of Voinian ships. We will rule all the Crescent!" ESPilot muttered "Oh shut up Ganriot. Still ambitious as ever.." The fighters had engaged Ganriot's ship, but the unexpected addition of a neutron turret was proving to be a setback, while missiles launched continually from the Basilisk as it approached.

OOC: As I reread my last post, it's just a bit confusing. The L1 is the Vampire, and the B2 is the Nova.

===========

The Arada M5 entered the Eltor, being careful of the remaining space mines there. What the M5 Gunship intended to do now was extremely dangerous. The pilot wanted to remove a few space mines and put them on the ship without setting them off. To do this, he first found an isolated mine, then sent out probes toward it. The probes' mass shadows did not activate the mine, luckily, and the probes disabled the mine. The M5 then took it into it's cargo hold. The gunship did the same with two more mines, then headed back towards Emalghion...
