Player's Setups

Everyone post there setups (ship, upgrades, weapons, escorts)

and give tips about good escorts (why they are good)

My setup:

my ship: Crescent warship fully upgraded + 2 mass expansions, no secondary weapons, but i have the crescent bay

my escorts: Ali Saidi (he worked for the Council, he drives a sick Lazira with 3 SAD launchers and full upgrades) and a regular Crescent Warship.

Im looking to see if i can capture Elizabeth Ried (Life's insanely great! I get the point already!)

I forgot to mention i use 3 Swivel blaze cannons, no turrets.

1: There's no such thing as a swivel blaze cannon.
2: Përs ships revert to standard ships of that type when captured as escorts. Ali Saidi would therefore revert to a regular Lazira same as with Elizabeth Reib and any other përs ships.

1. Blaze, Phase, how am i supposed to remember which's which?
2. You mean all Laziras have 3 SAD launchers?

Igazra escorts.

They'sa good.

Ship? Fighter, Crescent?

Outfits? The good ones. There's no question, good outfits = good outfits.

No, I mean you have no idea what you're talking about.

Will you just post your setup?

What setup? I don't even have EVO installed at the moment.

After seeing a few hundred (literally a few hundred) of this type of post it wears. I also feel that accuracy in posting is a good thing and that correction of accuracy (within reason) is a good thing.

I dunno. I understand both POVs here, and why eveyone might be frustrated a bit. Personally, I was pretty skeptical of this topic the first time I saw and read what Ash!taka wanted. It's too broad, and setups tend to be personalized, i.e., a good portion of one setup looks crappy or dumb to the next person. Also, people have had and currently have so many different ships that they may not have one "setup" that works, instead have a bunch. Which takes more time to post. Though it is kinda funny to actually see how much of this thread is devoted to talking about ship setups.

Sierra's Law appears to be rather prevelant at the moment.

Phase, and pursuit. Repulsion beams. All those little "goodies" that we all know and use without even thinking about, like Sensor Upgrade and ECMs. Sometimes SADs on larger ships, blaze when I'm in Voinian space only.

That good enough to prove that Sierra's Law has exceptions?

For the record, I use an Igazra. 3 phase and 2 neutron in the stand, 4 neutron and 1 phase in voinian space. Only secondary is dispy rockets. I spend the rest of my space cranking up the armor (both dospect and bronev) and shields, plus all the speed and turning upgrades and the normal trinkets. And BTW, my favorite law is Hofstaeder's: It always takes more time to do something than you planned, even when you take into account Hofstaeder's Law.

Lesson number 1, Ash!taka.

This is spam. Simply because, forge is posting in this topic but is making no contribution whatsoever. He posted, but not to answer you're question, mainly just to "harass the newbie" and get more brownie points with the "cool" guys.

Never do this unless your name is "forge", Ash!taka, or you're a moderator.

That's life for you, eh?

...gah, Simon, stop it with the personal vendetta. Oh, yeah, okay, reason to post...

Yes, pers ships return to standard after capture. The Nadir is an exception, however, but just remember, it's The Nadir or the UE Cruiser. Not so difficult a choice, really. 😉

I wouldn't call the Nadir an exception to the përs ships rule, since the Nadir isn't a përs ship - his Turncoat is a special shďp resource of its own, not an upgraded standard Turncoat. The same is true of the Igazras that are armed with the beam weapon, and the enhanced versions of the Azdara and Azdgari Arada.

If you'd prefer I can quite easily post what my preferred final ship would be:

Igazra
Five phase turrets
Dospect Armor
Bronev plating
Four shield capacitors
Plasma Siphon
Two ramscoops
Two fuel tanks
IFF decoder
Mass sensor thingie (you know, that one that differentiates between big and small ships)
Needle Jammer
ECM
Sensor upgrade
Nebula sensor upgrade
The "big three": Speed, acceleration, and maneuverability upgrades.
Mass retools as needed

This is all I can think of that I had off the top of my head.

That's the density scanner.

Anyway, to actually make a post on topic, my preferred ship is an Azdara (naturally) with a cargo expansion, Azdgari upgrade (doesn't make any sense, but why not?) all those mass-less upgrades (IFF Decoder, Density Scanner, Needle Jammer, ECM, et cetera) extra fuel tank, and fuel scoop. And, of course, the standard 3 swivel phasers.

(Edited to fix a minor error in the quote)
