Golden Horizon - Part II

OOC: I'm completely lost about the battle with the Akrahd. I'd left the system, but Carnotaur mentioned revoking that in AIM. And if ImmortalFirefly attacked, why would I be unprepared when I practically sitting on the doorstep he was going to come of weapons charged? If he'd come into the system I would have incinerated a large number of his ships in seconds....I wouldn't have been unprepared.

That's all very nice, but where are the guns?
- SilverDragon

OOC: I know this is very late into the game, but I've only just recently returned to the web boards, and was wondering if you'd let this webstory be my first. Since I see the story is well advanced, but it possible I'd like to be a small, none too powerful private "Government," more of a glorified renegade grouping.
I accept if you choose not to let me join, and if that's the case, whenever you have an opening, an email to Viscousmartini@aol.com would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do-spect armor? Hah!
I Do'spect that you're going to die, mister Vonian.
Intercepted from the UE Cruiser Blockade Runner, during attack of Dreadnaught.

OOC: Don't worry SilverDragon. You could use what he said to your advantage. You make it LOOK like you were uprepared, but all of a sudden, you attack full force and catch the Akrahd off guard.

For clarification on that battle: a fleet of Akrahd ships is attacking NSI-231 and the Igadzra fleet. Another raider fleet is heading towards Zeus.

Forklift; I will e-mail you the details of what has happened and what positions you can take.

OOC: This next post takes place after Grathon gets to the moon orbiting Sladerei and sets up a small compound.

BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT

As Admiral Grathon walked through the small, newly built compound, suddenly, he saw some movement to his left. Turning around to face that direction, Grathon peered into the darkness. His eyes, which were very acustomed to the darkness, tried to make out what it was that Grathon had saw. Suddenly, he saw it. Whatever “It” was, it was keeping completely still and sticking close to the side wall of the building and sort of hiding behind a supply container. Suddenly, the moonlight glinted off something shiny that it was holding.

A rifle.

However, it wasn’t any ordinary rifle. It had completely straight and long barrel, and had what looked like a special power pack in front of the trigger and first handle. Grathon knew what is was; a primitive bullet firing rifle. Only one species in this galaxy used that; the Rarkyl.

Before Grathon could yell an alarm, there was a massive explosion on the other side of the compound. As the massive fireball rose in the air, illuminating the entire compound.

As Grathon looked that wang, he a sharp and fast “BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!” of a Rarkyl sub-machine gun. Grathon turned to run, but suddenly a Rarkyl, which had been on top of the nearby complex, jumped on him. Grathon fell down, rolled, and kicked the Rarkyl away. Both of them got up, and then the commando charged Grathon. The Edien responded by grabbing one of the Rarkyl’s outstreched hands, and then flipping him over his shoulder and onto the ground.

Then another Rarkyl grabbed him around the neck. Grathon flung his hand up with a quick flick of his upper hand, smashing it into the face of the Rarkyl. Grathon then wrenched free, spun around, and delivered a crippling blow to the stomache of the commando. Then Grathon threw him into the side of the building, just as four more commandoes jumped down from the roof, encircling Grathon.

Without warning, however, one of the Rarkyl were killed as two Edien soldiers ran forward, guns ready. The Rarkyl responded by firing their own weapons. However, that was only a distraction, giving the Rarkyl enough time to attack the two soldiers and Grathon. One of the soldiers tried to block the charging Rarkyl with his weapon. The Rarkyl whacked the gun away with a flick of his combat sword and right wrist, then prepared to stab the Edien. The soldier, however, hit the sword out of the Rarkyl’s hand with his right, and punched the Rarkyl in the face with his right. The Rarkyl staggered back, but charged again, arms swinging. The Edien blocked both of them, the Rarkyl punched one hand away, and then hit the Edien soldier square in the face, sending him sprawling. The Rarkyl leaped on him, the Edien however rolled out of the way. Both of them got up, and starting swinging. The Rarkyl blocked both punches, then swung at the Edien, which blocked, and swung again. This time the Rarkyl grabbed his hand and flipped him. When the Edien tried to get up, he was knocked down by the Rarkyl, out cold.

Meanwhile, Grathon had been doing much better with his assailant. The Rarkyl had rushed forward, swung, gotten blocked, and was knocked back with a fast punch from Grathon. The Rarkyl jumped up, moved forward, and started swinging. Grathon blocked and blocked, while also trying to hit the Rarkyl. However, they were both too fast, and neither one of them got a punch in until Grathon was able to grab hold of one of the Rarkyl’s arms, distract him, then knocked him off his feet with his leg. The Rarkyl was dazed, and so Grathon reached down, took hold of his head, and bashed it against the ground, knocking him out.

The other soldier was jumped on by the Rarkyl, and the two of them began a long struggle. Finally, the Rarkyl wrenched free, and they both jumped up. The Edien produced a knife, and moved forward. However, the Rarkyl was ready for this. He grabbed the Ediens arm with one hand, and punched him directly in the face with the other. As the Edien dropped the knife and stagged back, the Rarkyl bunched him twice again, then pushed him to one side, unconscious.

The Rarkyl soldier then jumped at Grathon, but the Edien Admiral was too fast for him. Grathon punched him, then threw him to one side. The other Rarkyl soldier then jumped on Grathon, and two of them went down in a big struggle. Grathon rolled away, jumped up, and kicked the Rarkyl, knocking him out.

But Grathon suddenly felt a massive stinging pain go through his back as he heard a loud “THRON!”, the infamous sound of a Rarkyl thoron pistol. Grathon slowly turned around to face the Rarkyl commando he had thrown aside; which was lying on the ground, Thoron pistol in hand.

“Now, Edien scum,” the Rarkyl said, in a voice which scared even the hardened Grathon, “freez, or you die!”

Soon, the other commandoes recovered, and they took Grathon to a hidden Rarkyl “Hellbound” class destroyer which was outfitted with a prototype cloaking device. The destroyer was soon far away from Sladerei on its way to the Rarkyl border. Several days later, it met up with three Rarkyl battleships, which escorted the destroyer on its way back to Rarkylryl, the Rarkyl homeworld...
