Food for Thought

Hey, I was just wondering, does anybody actually know what some of these species (sp) look like? I was just thinking that it would make a cool gallery, to see some people's ideas of what a Voinian, Miranu, Zidigar, or even Council Memeber. Just thought I would throw that out there. By the way, Golden Horizin is FABULOUS. Keep up the good work.

Somebody did offer a link to a website containing sketches, about a year ago. Just their idea of what the races might look like. Until we get the 'search' function back again, though... well, I wouldn't want to trawl through ancient EV:O board history, looking for one message!

What do you mean "until" we get it back? I don't think we're ever going to.

Ambrosia's server, Janus, is having problems with its second motherboard. They removed the search feature to reduce traffic. It will return when someone sends Andrew $3000.

Everyone should contribute to a fund to make the search function return.

Then all the Ambrosia members combined would only have to throw a few bucks into the jackpot each...

Just what I think:
I think that the Vonians look like an ant like creature, but on its hind legs.
The Zidigar are like aqua-looking creaturs. They are skinny, but muscular.
The Miranu are a kind and gentle creature. Maybe the color of light blue and a little yellow.
The SP that satrs with I (I think it's Idzagar) are like the little dude from Star Wars! (GAWD! I cant remember his name!) The old dude with the cane that lived oin that swamp world.
And the Azdgari are maybe also a desolate creature. Very qite, but feirce when made to be.
The Strandless are all sorts of species.
The Emalgha are maybe a tall and bulky creature. Very stern but VERY gracious and kind.
The Hinwar are also like the dude from star wars, but more hunched and smaller.

That's just MY oppinion.

Aren't all of the strands the same species?

I think so. They started warring over some reason...I forget what it is right now. 🙂

...etc.

The Zidagar, Igadzra and Azdgari were once a single species. I expect that if you were to find a surviving example of this proto-species, it would be living on Council Station. They have been pursuing different directions for millennia now, though, so they may well have diverged quite a bit. For example, the Zidagar homeworld is a 2G planet, so they have probably become very stocky and thick-boned.

For some reason, I have always thought of the Igadzra as an aquatic subspecies, though I have no recollection of what has led me to form this opinion. They might just as easily be a salamander-like creature for all I know. Likewise, I think of the Azdgari (spit) as a winged subspecies. Maybe it's just the styling of their ships that makes me think of them as always flitting about.

The subspecies of the strand war probably remain sexually compatible (zebra and horses can mate successfully, after all, and they diverged way back). This would suggest that where they gather together under the 'strandless' banner, their children are likely to be hybrids with some genetic characteristics from each of the parent races. This may even make them a little like the Council, though one or other of the strands has probably made use of gene manipulation along the way, so this is by no means certain.
