Before I mention my problem, I'd just like to say that Femme Fatale is a great sequel to Frozen Heart.
I have a question and then a problem.
1. What is a good ship to use in the beginning? I don't have many credits, only about a half a million. I bought a Rim Prospector, because it was really good in Frozen Heart, but now I'm thinking that maybe I need a ship that can take on a pirate and win. Is the Mosquito Fighter any good?
2. I can't kill the Chimera! Its a grey dust cloud that spits out other grey dust clouds that follow me and kill me.! I can't get close enough to ram it, and I have no other way to defeat it. Does it ever run out of ammo? I could beat it if it weren't for the dust clouds that it launches...
Anyway, time is on my side, so if the Rim Prospector doesn't stand a chance against a Chimera, then I'll save my money and upgrade my ship.

The Chimera will not run out of ammo. Just evade its shots till you can get close, then blast it with everything you got. As soon as it disables, cease fire. A Mosquito would be useful.

The chimera is very weak. A single torpedo will destroy is (so don't use torpedos, because you have to board it. Ideally, a mosquito(sp) with flares and afterburner and decked out with ion weapons should be used, but it seems to be somewhat outside your price range.
I suggest that you use the cargo shuttle, which you can get at the Mincar Orbiter. It's cheap, maneuverable, and has a decent ammount of upgrade space. I's use the space to put in: a flare rack+50 flares to use on the chimeras that chase you, an afterburner, to get close to the chimera without being hit, and some ion cannons/turrets. You'll also need a fuel scoop to get back to inhabited space.
------------------ Some call it newbie bashing. We prefer the term 'tactical destruction of potential future enemies'.
A Mosquito is not out of my price range, so I went and bought it, and took out the Chimera in about ten seconds. Now that I'm done with that mission, I have some more questions. 1. Where is Detton, the murderer? I assume he is on one of the pirate worlds, but which one? 2. Where are the Thor Supertankers? I found the first one on Tesken AlphaX, now I need to find the others. The mission text said some stuff about plague worlds, so I checked out Kihara One, Alba, and a slew of other worlds, but I cannot find the ships. Help.
Ya I'm on that mission too. The second ship is in the system just south of Alba called Antilla. It should be on the planet there. After you find it go to the bar on Alba to start the 3rd ship. That's where I'm stuck. Also, I think that Detton is in the Alphard system. It's 2 systems from Tejat.
Detton is in a orion ship that appears from time to time. You have to shoot and disable his ship and then take him back to Home.
On a slightly different note, does anyone know what happens after you decide not to get your memory restored at Yani Turkani (or whatever the name is)? It seems like its the end, and nothing clues me in on anything more. I guess I'm mainly asking MT since he wrote the thing....

That's the end. Kind of open ended (and if I'd had the option I'd have restored my memory, but ). On a very different note, Martin Turner mentioned another new plug in the works a while ago, an intermediate one between FF and his next biggie. Did you find the time to do it, Martin? Do hope so

As I remember you need to seek help within the game itself to find the third one, Rigellian if memory serves, it's been a long time now though, so perhaps it doesn't.

Anyone check out the star formation of systems in the far NW? It's pretty neat, but hard to get to.

And you spend hours on your fuel scoops.

I've completed the game now, and I wanted to ask your opinion on which is a better capital ship, the Cobra, or the Conditori, and which is a better fighter, the Viper, the Trifid, or the Mosquito. I personally like the Viper better than the Trifid, because it comes with those sweet IMP bombs, but I like the Mosquito best, because it hase room for all the armor/shiel upgrades plus the Androsyne missiles. I've tried both the Cobra and the Conditori, and I have to say that I like the Cobra better, simply because it comes with Vipers, which are better ships than Triffids.
Those Thor Ships Eh? The first one. It's not on Teskan Alpha, or its little moon. Where is this Taskan Alpha X of which they speak? Whats this mystery X place. I'm off to fly around in the hope of finding another planet out in the void. Someone put me out of my misery.
Look at the Tesken system on your world map. You'll see two ports, Tesken Alpha and Tesken Alpha X. When you enter the Tesken system, select Tesken Alpha X using the number keys, or your F1-F9 keys.
Well, I figure I'll give this a shot. I've been looking for what seems like years now for all three Thor ships, I finally found two, then went and got the help I needed from Rigel, and she told me "I need some time." or something along those lines.
I've given her time, what the heck do I do to find the last ship?

Sure have. I believe those systems are the basis for another potential branch-off plot. If we're fortunate, we'll see it as a part of the new major FH plug Martin Turner intends to release for EV Nova.

I can't speak to the fighters (I've never tried flying them), but the Cobra is unquestionably a better warship than the Conditori.

Alana won't contact you again regarding this until you solve both the murder mystery and the art theft. Once you do, start checking bars/mission computers to continue down FF's plotline.
UEC
The problem is, I have done both of those things, the art theft and solved the murder mystery. And I've been to just about every system looking in bars and computers, it just doesn't seem to want to let me go on
Well, anyway, thanks for responding
Are you certain that you've solved the Art Theft? I thought I did once, but I didn't. If you haven't done any missions involving disabling a Conditorii and retrieving a certain something, you haven't finished. If not, you have to seek that out. I don't remember the exact place (been too long), but the stellar where the mission is made available is a few jumps from Dark Station....no more than 5 or 6, I'd say.
I'll give that a shot, it was getting frustrating. Thanks for all your help.
Damn stupid art theft mission, I've been looking for hours, do you have any other advice, I've looked in almost every single system for anything resembling an art theft mission.
It could be that there is a mission computer mission you haven't done yet. In FF, missions like "data tape recovery" and things like that have to be done at least once in order for the storyline to progress. Check the mission computer and look for anything you haven't done before, or even suspect you haven't done before, then do them.
Oh, and I believe the system where that important mission is is Parasoja, if that helps any.
Where do I find the second ship?
