Since this topic is Escape Velocity-related, I won't post details here. The Escape Velocity forum will soon be creating Episode II of the "Battle for Sol," and players are needed. Not at the moment. I'm rather busy at the moment, and I'll be out of contact for much of August, so it didn't seem sensible. If the topic is still going strong when I get back, I may join up, but it's too soon to tell how I'll be doing for time then.

I had the reason already planned out, bet never really explained it. Jonathan Navarone had served two terms as president of the Rebellion, and therefore isn't permitted to run for president again. However, according to the original laws of the Rebellion, Navarone could be selected as a vice president canidate, so he was who Skyblade selected. Weeks later, the Confederation fell, but the end of the war didn't effect the leaders who were already in office. Simple as that.

Another question: where did you get that there were only sixteen alien cruisers during the Great War? This is the only reference I could find ingame to the number of alien cruisers:

I believe during the Rebel alien missions, the one where you have to pick up the Great War records, it mentions there being sixteen alien cruisers. A few members as the Escape Velocity forum also said that sixteen alien cruisers were ever seen during the war, according to EV.

I can't find any specific numbers in any of the Rebel mission descriptions. Admiral Sykes's "dozens" is the only number of alien cruisers I can find anywhere in the game.
BTW, is your Human Confederacy Osprey supposed to be in any way related to the Confederate Osprey assault frigate from Battle for Sol 1? I ask because it shares the name but doesn't look to be much like my Osprey.
