You haven't been here the longest -you just got back. Those days are now referred to as the "old board days". Back before ASW took over the ev site. What you are referring to is called a "threaded" board format, where this is UBB.
There are still some who remember those days, but I am one of the few that has been a regular, posting atleast every two days (regularly) since those days.
