Most of the other pilots who mysteriously disappeared have survived. The only one who is fast enough to get back to the station in time for this is the Arada, and it slides into the docking bay at full speed. After finding out what happened, it turns around and shoots out to the wing position of the Event Horizon. Then, at the worst possible time, a Renegade fleet jumps in. Not noticing the giant ball of flame approaching, they begin to attack. only a few ships are left to defend the event horizon and its precious cargo...
------------------ Is the answer to this question 'no'?
And now it is revealed where Captian LG went, for he returns 2 minutes after the fighting starts and activates his tractor beam. The Event Horizon is pulled into the docking bay of LeGrenadier's ship, the S.S. Empire Builder, where it is safe from harm. Closer inspection reveals however that it is too late. The gravity thing has been damaged beyond repair. Captian legrenadier checks his ships computer. "Two hours to find another one of these things before the station is incenerated" he reports. And I'm not sticking around to watch the fireworks. The renigades, now aware of what's going on, have ceased fire and left as quickly as they came.

Weepul 884 sits at another bar, idly watching the HoloVid. A flash newscast appears: "A star has been reported to be hurtling at high velocity towards Council Station. Details at 11."
Weepul 884 remembers all the people in the bar there, and decides to do something about it. Activating his custom ship's Fold Drive, a device allowing a ship to travel instantly from one place to another - but only once a day, to recharge - he folds into Gadzair. (I hope I got the system name right)
He fires the Singularity Expansion Device. Once again the now-familiar ring of energy expands slowly, and washes over the star. The star and every ship not docked with the station are, once again, held rigidly in place for the next few hours.
------------------
Captian LeGrenadier heaves a great sigh of relif and sits back down is his command chair, suddenly exausted. We have it stuck now, he says, but so are we. And the singularity field will only last as long as Weepuls power supply holds out. We need to find one more ship with a singularity generator that can move unregulated in the field. This ship must also have a tractor beam powerful enough to change the star's corse. Anyone have or know of such a ship, or such a tractor beam?
The uniquely designed EMP Destroyer Event Horizon travels toward the star at full power. "Travel directly toward the star, throttle 100%. All shields forward. Power up the SED," goomeister ordered. "Throttle 100%. We are approaching the star's corona," replied the helmsman. The tactical officer chimed in: "Our shield power is dropping dramatically. SED at full power. We can deploy it at 15 clicks." The bridge crew was silent as the Event Horizon hurtled into near-destruction. "We are 30 clicks from the star's core. 23 clicks-" "Shield generator overload," the ship computer warned, interrupting the helmsman. "17 clicks. Hull temperature: 3.87E+8 degrees Celsius. 14 clicks..." "Deploy the SED!" shouted goomeister. "SED deployed. Hull temperature beginning to drop-" the tactical officer started to continue. The emergency klaxon sounded. "Hull breakdown eminent." "ABANDON SHIP!!!" shouted goomeister.
The star flared one last time before being consumed by she singularity. Event Horizon was lost, and no one could tell what became of her crew...

Captian LeGrenadier returns to the bar. "Some day" he says. "Anyone else thirsty?" He turns to the bartender "get me somthing with lots of caffine" he says.
UE Patriot gives Captain LeGrenadier a few cans of Coke.
Man, this bar has a life of its own!
God bless,
UE Patriot

Amidst al the Chaos, No one seems to notice the faint shimmer where the star used to be. Nobody notices that the impact with Event Horizon was enough to make a Time Rift, like REDchigh explains earlier. REDchigh tries to gather every one's attention, but it is too late. The shimmer gets bigger, and more visible, and all of a sudden one small Black fighter zooms through the rift. It Blands perfectly with the blackness of space, and can only be seen when it passes in front of an asteroid. The fighter pauses for a moment in front of a CW leaving the station, when all of a sudden there is a blinding flash of light, and all that is left of the CW is a few chunks of debree, and un-recognizable alien body parts. Everybody is suprised and Terrified of the awesome power of this incerdible small ship, when it zooms back through the rift. The fighter zooms back through a few seconds later, and it is followed by....

A larger alien ship with a similar color and build. LeGrenadier gets to his feet again and burps loudly (coke will do that to you ) then stares out the window at the aliens. I think we have a problem he muses, then turns to the patrons in the bar. I think the air in here is doing strange things to our heads.
goomeister's escape pod was quickly recovered. He nearly fainted at the sight of the alien vessels. "The dark ones. They hail from beyond the void. They derived the three strands from their biological experimentation on the Gadzair. They're the reason we've blocked off passage beyond the Crescent. Obviously, they've managed to bypass Crescent Station. They must be stopped!"
The bar settled for a moment, processing goomeister's speech. "If you'll follow me to the Council Archives, we may find a way to stop these marauders."
"The ships appear to be of a very early Strand design," says Captain LeGrenadier. "Gadzair below us is the original homeworld of all three strands. This means the rift is through time and not through space." "And don't worry," he says to the frightened captains," "these ships are of a primitive design- lots of armor, but few shields. Anyone got an Emalgha cannon? we should finish them off pretty quickly." And then, he mentally connected two pictures- early strand vessels- black, good armor but poor shields. Voinian ships- blackish-grey, good armor but poor shields...
Now whose string do you follow- mine or goomeisters, since we posted at the same time... ------------------ I ask you to look both ways- for the road to the atom leads through the stars, and the road to the stars leads through the atom.

Everyone is searching frantically through records. Suddenly the pilot of the Arada shouts. "This may be it, but it's heavily encrypted. We need an Apple G324 Square to decode it. It appears to be written in a language similar to old Voinian..."
"If only I had Event Horizon now!" a frustrated Azdgari by the name of goomeister raved. "It's EMP projector could stop that SOB cold. Too bad it was destroyed an hour ago, otherwise I co - wait! That's a time rift, right?" He looks at the data tapes Arada found. "I know a little Voinian. These are records on the research of stable wormholes. If we could get that damn square we might be able to retrieve Event Horizon!
Apparently goomeister forgot Weepul 884's ship...unfortunately the field must be weakening as the CW managed to exit the station and the black ships managed to destroy said CW. Fortunately, Weepul's always got an extra trick up his sleeve.
Donning a space suit, Weepul leaves his ship with his trusty..."what the heck is that!?" exclaims Arada. A silvery rod about 2 meters in length, glinting in the starlight, is in Weepul's hand. Painfully slowly Weepul maneuvers his EVA suit towards one of the black ships. In slo-mo from the dissipating singularity expansion field, he swings the rod. It connects with the ship, and Weepul is thrown backwards. Space distorts around the ship as it is sucked back into time and phases out. Everyone on the station cheers mometarily, then resumes holding their collective breaths as they realize it's 1 down, 5 to go.
"We've got to find a faster way to get the ships!" notes goomeister.
A subtle movement reveals a black fighter swooping towards Weepul. Another blinding flash of light eminates, but as it fades Weepul is still present, swinging the rod with a vengeance. Faintly over the station's comm Weepul's voice is heard saying, "I guess their aim isn't as good as their armament." The rod connects and the fighter is pulled back in time.
A loud belch from the back of the bar attracts everyone's attention. Standing halfway out of a hole in the floor in the bar is Captain LeGrenadier, grinning broadly. "Look what I found in the 'basement'," he says jubilantly...

You may have just given me the storyline I need for my Council plugin idea...
It's an Apple G324 Square! goomeister quickly begins to read the data stored on the tapes. Using components scavenged from the computer, wire, crystal shards from the wreckage of the Event Horizon , and some duct tape (The handyman's best friend), he pieced together a hyper-dimensional stabilizer, which he installed on his Azdara, which was stored in drydock after goomeister's victory over the station.
The Azdara shoots out of the station and into the rift, in search of the one ship that could stop the marauders. The bar is left wondering: Can Weepul delay the onslaught until goomeister can recover his ship?
Captian LeGrenadier pulls out his own handhelled Apple G225 mobilus computer and taps into to the interplanetarynet, performing a search. "What I've concluded so far is that the Voinians and the strands have common origins on Gaz. and that these vessels are similar to Voinian design. Their weapons however, are more like those of the Zidigar, and they have slightly more shielding then the average voinian ship. If we could find someone with a U.E. ship, decked out with elmagha weponry, we would have an easy time defeating them. Once again I ask if someone has a ship like that (although I already know the answer )
Suddenly Captian LeGrenadier stops in midsentence. "If I'm not mistaken, he says, we may just have a ship like the ones those aliens have aboard this station. It's old yes, and not much good for fighting. But it has the same atvantages and disatvantages as their ships do. Now I know you may find the idea of flying an antique ship into battle absurd, but It's worth a shot. Now, I need someone who will be willing to fly it. Any takers?"

Meanwhile, in the rift...
The green, insect-like Starblade shot back through time, just as Event Horizon left the station. Although it was fast, it was no match for the Azdara and the determined Azdgari at its helm. goomeister quickly snuck aboard with Shockrifle, EMP rifle, and various explosives. He managed to install the hyper-dimensional stabilizer without anyone noticing. He then scoured the entire ship, destroying its occupants, before ending the rampage with a thermal detonator thrown into the bridge. goomeister jumped to the helm.
"Computer, full system override. Direct all controls to the helm," he ordered. "Acknowledged," came the reply. "Keep full shields nearest the star. Throttle 100%. Charge the SED at full power." "Commands recieved."
goomeister carefully pulled his ship away from the star. At a safe distance, he fired the SED and barely managed to pull through the rift. But did he return to the right time?
