FF-Cargo Pod in Ras

I'm supposed to get a Cargo Pod from inside a Chimora. I either get blown up or manage to disable it, but can't board or land on it. Any suggestions?

You have to do just the right amount of damage or you won't be able to board it. The moment it stops shooting you, cease fire.
