I just got a great idea. Use Res-edit to create a galaxy without any habitable planets, and start the player off in a small vessel. Accquire a mission somewhere about blowing up a space station, and let the player move up through the ranks of ships, up to a ship that will allow you to destroy the station. Time limit= 1 year

I like the idea of a galaxy that changes constantly with missions, and it's all just training.
You'd have dozens of completely set challenges and the like.

sounds good, but where would the plot be, or what would the point of it be?

The idea and point is to get enough money fast enough so that you can still destroy the station. Sounds like a good idea. How would you make the time limit one year? I suppose set the um... mission limit to one year. Thats good. I like the idea.

Or, you could sit in an asteroid infested system with caps lock on and try to dodge 'em all. Yeah!
